ZL1 "Decal" on dash

So...the only flaw with my new ZL1 is that there is this "ZL1" sticker on the dash. for some reason (I'm guessing the P.O.), someone tried to remove it, so the 'Z' is half gone. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement sticker and/or remove the sticker the rest of the way easily, without damaging the dash?

Dude, there's a sticker on your dash? That's freakin' crazy. Not sure exactly where it is, but on painted surfaces I've always used mineral spirits to get any type of glue/tape/stickers off with no damage. Not sure if it will work on the surface you're working with.

Where is it? Any pics?

Really? There's not one on yours? It is more of an emblem than a sticker, though. OP, I'm not sure it can be removed without damaging the trim piece. You can try, worst is you would have to buy a new trim piece either way.

Wondering if WD40/heat would do the trick...

The 2012s had an external emblem decal for the ZL1 and it was/is a huge problem in that it always seemed to get snagged by wiping cloths, etc., and either partially or completely coming off. GM updated that piece to have the ZL1 as part of the dash piece instead of a decal.

This is the entire problem. If you still have any warranty (3/36) then get in there and get it replaced under warranty. Otherwise, if you buy the new piece, it should already be updated with the newer part with the emblem infused.

Unfortunately it came without a warranty, so it sounds like removal and/or replacement is my only option.

Newer p/n with the infused emblem is p/n 22967691 if you go that route.

It's pretty sporty on price (170.40 list price) but I saw a place on ebay selling them for around 113 shipped.

Holy crap! That's WAY overpriced for a dang sticker. I'll just remove the stupid thing!

Dental floss (might take a few pieces but works) will cut it off then you can use a Magic Eraser to remove any adhesive left behind. This way you will not scratch the piece........

Good idea! I'll try that.

Take your time with it and without a doubt it works. The floss will heat up and break and that's why you will need several pieces. With a little luck, you will get under the two sided tape and it will not leave anything on your dash trim....

That part number is for the entire trim strip. The newer strips have the ZL1 embedded IN the strip rather than a decal ON the strip.

Fair enough, but I'm not spending over $100 when I can use some dental floss and remove it.
