Shock tower mount discoloring
I have 1700 miles on my car and when i checked the oil yesterday i noticed that around the shock tower there was a slight faint yellow coloring around the round mount , my car is white so it was easy to see.......WTF

Do you think the paint is "cooking"... ?? The heat transfer to the shock towers from the brace is high. ????

....nothing to do with heat, I would ask the OP to post some pics if possible.....so we can see what he is referring to...

Have seen several white cars have this issue. Dealer repainted the towers for 2 people i know.

Yep, my tower mounts are slightly discolored too. It is more noticeable on the passenger side.

I will get pics as soon as possible out of town right now , but i can say i took the car for a long ride and when i got home i opened the hood and felt the discolored area and no heat in the area,,,,,,don't get it???????????

Not sure what is causing it, but I have seen it too on white cars.

i don't understand ! it's shameful. $60000 car people..
why Gm did not take any action on this?? they knew from previous complaints of owners. they don't rectify the problem.. ..talk about build quality! |

I've been thinking the same thing. I know nothing is perfect but I'd like to think that GM would have a might tighter grip on QC especially with the initial delay of the ZL1 that was due to QC concerns in the first place.
