InLine Fuse or NO

I have a Distribution Fuse Block, it is in the trunk where the factory amp used to be, I of course am running the power wire to the battery, which in direct length is maybe 1-1.5 feet. I seen some people in other systems run an inline fuse before the distro block, the argument is if the wire comes loose then it will save the car from sparking and catching fire. My thought is, I secured the hell out of the Distro block connection, it is as likely to come loose at an inline fuse holder as the bistro block at this point. Am I crazy, has anyone else used only a Distribution fuse block ?
