Just a quick note for those getting the soldering kits.
While this is not the same board, take a look at the solder joints. This is what you should shoot for. The solder should be shiny, and, "flow" from the board surface up the component lead. Remember, you are melting the solder with the heat at the joint, not with the soldering iron!  Also, remember to trim the leads back. The two in the upper left have not been trimmed yet.
