zl1 shifter

i have a zl1 shifter im gonna put in my '10 m6. it looks like a big pain in the ass, is it as bad as it seems? also im wondering if i actually have to replace the entire assembly when it looks like the only difference is the shifter arm itself.

Replace whole thing. I put the factory Hurst in from a 2012 in my 2010. Could not replace just the stick. It is a pain but not a super pain.
