It made Wards Top 10 Best Engines List 3 times and the Rotrex supercharged Ford Modular 4-valve DOHC 4.7 V8, which produced 806 hp (601 kW), to achieve a top speed of 241 mph. This certified top speed was recorded on February 28, 2005 in Nardo, Italy and broke the McLaren F1's world record for fastest production car. The accomplishment was recognized by Guinness World Records in 2005. Only to be broken several months later by the Bugatti Veyron.
not only that. check how many times the modulars as a whole have made Wards Top 10 Engines vs. all the LSx motors. It's not even close.

My brother wants a Car Cover for his Mustang...

I'm not sure where to put this, so i'm putting it here. I'm looking for some help with a Car Cover Purchase.

My brother wants a car cover for his 06 Mustang GT Convertible for X-mas, but Ive never purchased a Car Cover before. What kind of material? What Brand? Please Help!

I'm looking at the calcover.com website, and I think I'm looking at the Noah or Ultraweave materials, something $225-250 or less.

LS2 GTO's were 400hp and about 150 lbs heavier than the 2011 mustang GT. (not sure on the specs yet but the GTO was 3730 I believe in m6 form)

These were not setting the world on fire (compared to the new maro)....I dont know why everyone thinks the new GT will.

I would love for the 2011 GT to be over 400hp and be quicker than the 2011 Camaro but honestly the aftermarket will decide what will ultimately win. I've never had a car that stayed stock for long anyways.

Are you unsure about the meaning of the phrase or its relevance?

It means "being superior, astonishing, incredible". However, it was slower than the Camaro is, while being lighter with similar hp (the same qualities expected of the 5.0L Mustang). Therefore, it was not "setting the world on fire" (compared to the new Camaro)

I'm guessing the reason why it was slower had to be its gearing or tires.

Well, anyone can mod anything to beat any vehicle. That's why I don't like using aftermarket as the final say on what is the better vehicle. It seems that stock vs. stock comparisons are more fair. But I'm in the process of saving up for HPE550 Kit, I'm like a 1/4 of the way there . I'll agree though it is never fun to leave your car bone stock.

Gearing is pretty closel, so tires is the most likely culprit since I don't think there is much difference between the LS2 and LS3/L99 in terms of power curves

I doubt my abilites are sufficient to get a 1973 Vega to out perform a 2010 ZR1. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if I could make it faster than my Grand Am.

We will see....we will see.

It is going to be close. But those hoping for the mustang to dominate...its just not going to happen. And if the camaro gets any upgrades for 2011 such as 3.73 gears...I would have to give it the nod.

So I guess it will come to modding. And if the past gives us any hint I doubt the 5.0 will respond as well to NA modifications. It is down over 1 liter in displacement and the modulars have never been known to respond as well to NA mods. They will be stuck paying over 6k for a supercharger in order to hang with bolt on LS3's.

Im not worried.

But hey all this is just my .02. And I could be wrong. And say the mustang does dominate the camaro in every way. The sun will still rise tomorrow and Ill still be a camaro fan for life.

You could do many things. Engine swaps for instance...
