Question Anyone think chevy beat mustang adverting?

Chevrolet should have a similar campaign done for the camaro it would really showcase the ideas everyone has for the camaro.

there are so many people that refuse to just have a conversation about whether or not chevy needs to update their player in the sports car war and would rather start a bitch fit with everybody else not on their side.

and for further clarification, you know who you are

THE TRACK PACK MUSTANG IS NOT AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE OVER A MUSTANG. it is a factory installed option and is well under the definition of stock.
by some of your interpretations of what stock is opting for a leather interior suddenly makes your car un-stock

You're gonna compare leather interior to a performance upgrade?

I went out of my way to make clear that my problem with the 12.6 second run is a lack of evidence and credibility given the lone ranger nature of these runs. And I said exactly the same thing about the claimed 13.2 second Mustang GT's, I personally have not seen enough info and/or evidence for me to sign onto either set of times as being completely legit.

I buy into the 11.95 second GT500 run because the driver is well known, extremely credible, and they explained in great detail how the times were garnered and what they did and did not do. Somebody at the Fest may back up that 12.6 run and, given the right circumstances I'll buy it, but then again they may not. If you don't like my criteria you certainly don't have to agree with it, but I apply it universally.

Or if Ford just made a decent suspension standard equipment.

They will do all that kind of stuff, but when they need to. They are still selling very well and I'm sure have no budget for a car that sells it's self.

im aware that my example is extreme, but it does carry a point. it is a factory option that you can go to the dealers lot and just buy ( what i did).

i dont think IRS will be standard until ford does the complete update of the mustang in a couple years. 2015 or so.

Its a factory option. If you wanna get down to it, every option in the end effect performance.

Leather is an out there example, but nonetheless a factory option like a track pack. Thus, Stock.

Convertible optioned car will run slower because its heavier. Person reaps the consequences of the boxes checked at the dealership. If Ford offers a Track Pack and it runs quicker. Person, again, reaps the consequences of the boxes checked out.

This is nothing new. If someone said that a 1969 Camaro was to come with a 327, but the person ordering checked the box to have the car instead come with a 396. Its still stock. And thats more extreme than a Track Pack on a Mustang today.

If the shoe was on the other foot and GM decided to give people the option to order the camaro with 3.73 gears like I hear people wishing; I would consider it stock.

Its Stock.

Indeed. Some Camaro guys like to call the trackpack cheating, which makes me

Honestly, in that case though, let's just hope that the Musclecar lives long enough for the Stang to see IRS- the Prius driving lawmakers in Washington make me nervous... Kudos to Ford for not accepting govt cheese, their might musclecar may just outlive ours...

It's a tough comparison. Generally "options" are just that- leather, heated seats, uberspeakers, etc. If Chevy were to add a supercharger to Camaro SS' list of "options" would it all be fair game?

Or maybe Ford like to give people the option to make option the car how they see fit.

Instead of Mustang 1GT or Mustang 2GT, or something like that; and say its so they can bring such a great to everyone at such a great price. Ford, instead made the entry level GT at $27,995 and said check your boxes like you want it.

In all honesty i hope that muscle cars die.......................................

and grow up to become the sports cars that they all should be. i want my american V8 to be able to kill M3's and Caymans and other widely known "drivers cars". so that means becoming less of pigs and join the realm of sub 3500 LB weight range. i can only hope
