(2005-2008) 4.0 V6 Mustang vs Camaro V6
So the guy 5 houses down from me has what looks to be a (2005-2008)4.0L V6 Mustang. Sounds like he has an exhasut system and CAI possibly as well. I did some seacrhing and found that "The 2005-2008 Mustang V6 comes from the factory with 210 horsepower and 254 lb./ft. of torque. but it can be supercharged to 290 horsepower and 294 lb./ft. of torque. in a 1/4 mile who would win? seems like a stock v6 can easily keep up with a S/C 4.0.

it would be very close if supercharged because it's lighter, and the torque.

I was hoping this was the case. It doesnt sound like he's S/C, just the CAI and exhaust for sure. He's always giving me "that look", as he drives by my driveway.

Hes lighter, and with a CAI/exhaust they have nice gains, but you'd still have em good when the speeds climb.
If hes supercharged...he will probably take you, or at least put up a hell of fight. Course...thats just my guess.

Not much you can do about the weight difference, but throw in an exhaust and CAI of your own (plus say shorty headers & a tune if he does have FI). Minus the headers that's what I have, and it's gotta be good for what, ~330hp & at least 285ft-lbs at the crank? For half what he spent on his FI alone, and you'd probably beat him handily.

So in other words...IBTST.
Ummm yeah if he's got a CAI and an exhaust then it's not going to be a contest. You will him bad. However, that 4.0 can be modded pretty decently. SCREAMIN can answer this as he used to own this vintage. He posted a video of a turbo'd 4.0 runnin in the 12's I believe. Fixed. I.A.T.A.T.

Coming from a guy that owns one with a CAI/Exhaust... you will destroy him. These cars are slower than time. FI is another story... but just normal bolt ons... not even worth the gas and track entrance fee.

I honestly don't know why someone would bother super charging one. It'd be cheaper to buy a GT. |

Insurance. The cost savings of insurance of owning a V6 and then buying a supercharger vs owning a GT would pay for itself. I can't seem to word that right, but you get the point.
