Tunnel Brace Bolts

Anybody know the GM part number for the tunnel brace bolts or know the exact specifications on the size of these bolts? Looks like it was removed when my exhaust was done and never reinstalled. Now I have no brace and no bolts.

I've read a few posted suggesting that it may jeopardize the structural integrity of the car. Just rather have it than not if possible.

if you think a flimsy piece of 18ga sheet metal is going to jeopardize the structure of a unibody car...

You can buy some aftermarket ones. If your exhaust is too jig get one with the spacers and it comes with bolts.

Can you please provide a link? I was thinking about getting an after market brace like BMR or Elite Engineering. Are you saying new bolts are provided??

I believe the stock bolts are about 32mm long and have a smaller dia lead or shank tip. Length of threads is about 1" or 25mm and the rest of the length is the tip. The tip on the stock bolts help to align the bolt with the threaded hole.
If your exhaust is low in the tunnel brace area to where a stock brace does not have clearance, then you need spacers to lower the brace so it clears the pipes, which could mean you need a longer bolts. All depends on how low your exhaust is in that area.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. That's really gonna help if I need to go searching for these things.

Remove yours and let me T-bone your car. Then tell me it doesn't do anything.

Seriously - why would GM spend the money on the materials and added steps during assembly if it didnt do anything? Think about it.

I've got an aftermarket one made for 3" exhaust and I had to still put spacers in and now it STILL hits. It pisses me off and I'm about to remove mine.

Sorry to hear that man. I'm not running 3" pipe just an aftermarket 2.5 system that sits a little low. I know I gotta have something there and since my OEM on has disappeared then I might as well get after market. I just need to get the bolts.
