As a car enthusiast, I saw a bunch of V6's. Before you V6 guys get your feathers ruffled (I've read through the entire thread and can see different guys get butt hurt over nothing), I'm not putting down the V6. As a car guy, I'd rather see a ZL1 or something that really grabs my attention.
I like the SS front over the ZL1! So I have to disagree!

The question was, " Do you think Mustang or Challenger owners get the same attention as the Camaro?" Yes. I think we all get ALOT of attention. People here are throwing around SS, SRT8, RT, GT500, LE1 etc, because we (anyone on this forum)are car nerds, no one else notices this shit. They (non car nerds) look out from their drab, dung colored SUV or minivan and see, holy shit, a sporty, hot looking car, they don't think, 'er, gee, I wonder why that feller didn't order the 'super trak pak' option?' They simply admire, or make judgements positive or negative depending on their situation. I do agree, bold colors and/or stripes help draw attention to the muscle car, whether it's a Camaro, Challenger or a Mustang.

I'm talking about the ZL1 as a whole, not a ZL1 front end duct taped onto a V6. Carry on though...

The 392 Loaded out breaks $50k. This is why I have always believe the Challenger doesn't have a very good cost to performance ratio. Even though, I do think its a nice looking car, but just not for me...

Yes, I built one again and realized I checked the wrong box, had the SRT 392, not the Core....but still, over $40k

Ignore the sticker price on any of Dodge products. Bottom line is you should be able to walk into any Dodge dealership and purchase a well equipped 470hp SRT Core for 38k-41k. I also purchased my fully optioned SRT8 which stickered near 51k for 43k, or less than what many are paying for fully optioned 2SS cars. With the 15 R/T now sporting an option of the 485hp 392 Scat Pack I'd expect pricing to become even better since it will no longer carry the SRT branding.

As much as some in this forum like to trash Dodge on their Challenger pricing it's right in line with the SS pricing.

Perhaps it is if you work at it long enough and hard enough, but just the idea that Dodge is apparently giving their sales force the upper hand from the get-go (with more negotiating room against some minimum number) is kind of off-putting. If two cars are realistically valued at $40k and one mfr lists his at $44k and the other guy stickers his at $50k, doesn't it look like somebody is trying for a little extra gouge on every single sale?

50 years ago I was the die-hard Mopar guy of the group, and I've always wanted to like their products. But damned if the Dodge/Chrysler/whoever organizations haven't kept finding new ways for me to do my serious shopping elsewhere all these years.

Ok, but the thing is. I, IMHO feel like the 1LE is the better deal. For $42k I got a car that can actually turn...sure if all you care about is advertised HP #'s then the way to go would be a new GT500 or in the 1LE price range a 392 core. But some of us like turning

Norm
Norm I agree that Dodge would be better served to reduce the list price to actually reflect where street pricing may fall. With that said all that really matter is what are the average out the door prices, or what can the vehicle be purchased for? I think the same can be said to some degree for all three brands though.
