UPDATE- Purchased the converter. TCI 6L80/6L90 Bolt-Together Torque Converters

Anyone tried one of these? Thinking about ordering one and give it a shot.

I am curious to see results. Please post if you decide to go for it.
I was thinking about the Livernois ZL1 spec'd converter. They seem to fly down the track.

UPS will be dropping it off Thursday. Should have it at the track next week. I already have a Yank SS but want a triple disk so I can lock it up in 4th.

CircleD and FTI was my first two choices. But I like the fact that I can take it apart and clean it or rebuild, change the stall without having to send it in.

Ok, Update. I bought the converter and got it Thrusday. Installed it Friday and drove to the track Sat. It was 80 miles to the track so i took it easy. Once I got to the track I noticed the converter seemed a little tight but didn't think much of it. Made my first pass and the trans didn't want to shift from 3rd to 4th. So I went back to the pits and change the shift Mph. Went back up to make another pass did my burn out. Rolled to the line and the car surged forward and died. Started it back up dropped in gear and died again. It was like dumping the clutch. So I limped it back home. Did fine on the highway but couldn't come to a stop or it would stall the car. Took the converter out and you could hear metal rolling around in it.

To sum it up. Made one WOT run and the converter came apart. Guess that's why it's a bolt together. So you can fix it after every run.

Yea, One thing I need to add. I did call TCI and they wanted to make it right. Told me to send it in so they could see what happened and they would send me a new one out. But I sent it back to Summit for a refund. Pulled the trans twice in 3 days. Not looking to do a forth anytime soon.

What are you putting back in for a converter? The Yank?
