Go with the 4L80E or a turbo 400.

I would do 4L80... ... you could do a built 4L60 and some guys have tons of power and they seem to live from some guys I have talked to... but I went 4L80 cause I just didnt want to have to worry..... but my converter just went to crap and sent its internals thru my trans.... now its a paperweight... anything can happen no matter how big you go... but odds are in your favor on teh 4L80... even though its a heavy lug compared to the 400.. either way you go you should be ok... heck tons of guys at 660 are on 6L80's... I didnt do a 4L80 till I was at 770rwhp...

Anothe 6l80! Lol
A 4l60 can hold your power. For a while, but honestly, with a lot of driving and racing, be prepared to freshen up once a year or so. |

With this heavy of a car you might as well get the 4L80E now and do it once rather than having to do it over again with a 4L60E.

A 4l60 can hold all the power in the world build right, but you're still going to have to replace the clutches on a yearly (or sooner) basis. there just isn't enough surface area to hold serious power with little maintenance. the 80/400 is where its at

I drag raced my RPM built 4L65 for 2 years until i refreshed it and when pulled it really didnt need it. To each their own, but the 4L65's can be built to withstand a lot. I beat the hell out of my car and the trans and converter was just fine. However a good trans cooler is a must and DO NOT HOT LAP YOUR TRANS!
