9 inch or Posi mod
I'm looking to upgrade the rear diff on my 1LE. As of now I'm making 741 RWHP. I have already done solid subframe bushings, toe rods and trailing arms with rod ends. Would like to do this one time, so I wondering if the stock diff with a JRE posi mod/billet caps is going to hold up. Plan B would be a Gforce 9 inch and be done with it. Car is used mainly as a weekend toy that I can go to the drag strip every now and then. Running 275 M&H drag radial @ the moment. Thanks for any info.

If you put our 9" kit in you will be done with your drivetrain mods and not have to worry about anything. In our 9" kit you will be getting a Strange 35 spline S-Trac posi unit that has a Lifetime warranty, you will also be getting our huge 35 spline inner stubs and our 31 spline Outlaw axles, all of which also come with a Lifetime warranty. If your unsure which route to go, give Chris @ Jannetty a call and he can go over which option might be best. They are a Gforce dealer so if you decide on a 9" or a posi mod, they can sell either to you. Or give me a call and I can explain more in depth on what makes our 9" kit the ultimate 9" kit on the market. Thanks Chris |

My vote is for the 9 inch, you'll never have to worry again. I'm enjoying mine and it is worry free.

Money is the factor here!!! If you can afford the 9" (or HammerHead), then by all means, do it!!! At your power level, at a bare minimum, skip the JRE Posi-Mod and at least install a Eaton True-Trac with the Billet Caps.

Thanks for the reply's. It looks like the 9 in. is the way to go. The only way I would upgrade the the stock diff is if I knew it would last. I was just going to buy aftermarket axles, but if I go with a 9 inch I will be selling them anyway. I have a DSS alu. shaft that I will have to sell too. The car only has 1,700 miles on it. LOL!!!

Once you get into the level 2, you get the lifetime warranty. Then there's the level 3 with pro gears and are "indestructible". 9" is great from what I've read, but if you have the DSS axles and driveshaft, then those will bolt up to the Hammerhead.
