Damaged Front Bumper, Fixable?
Hey Guys,
Driving to car show this weekend and I had an animal run out in front, couldn't even tell what it was. Couldn't swerve or slow down. My front corner of the bumper is smoked pretty bad. What do you guys think? Is it repairable or am I going to need a whole new bumper? Best part, I just spent hours detailing the car before. |

Just get a ZL1 bumper!™
Just kidding. I can't see the pic too well, but possibly high cut compounding, 2 step polishing might help a bit? |

Upon more inspection of the pic I stand by my original statement. Get a ZL1 bumper!

Try a hair dryer. Don't get real close. Plastic has a built in memory, it may come out. Paint if cracked will need redone.

Couldn't have been on the way home from the car show.
I'd consult a professional on that. It may be a wash though on repair cost vs. replacement cost.

Picture isn't the best. The lip spoiler broken, the fog light cover is completely gone, and the paint is cracked. Looks like it'll be a lot more than I thought. Let's see what the dealer says on Monday.

Dealer is not a body shop. Nor will they fix it when they can sell you a whole bumper first thing get undeneath and punch the dent out. If you do it fast enough after the accident it will pop right back into place. The plastic bumpers have a memory and will spring back if done fast enough. If its cracked easily patched, very easy to do yourself. Ive done ma y patches myself then paid to get a repsray if needed. Lip from what I can tell looks okay maybe broke a mount or two. They can be fixed too.
From what I can see. Take off front lip Punch out dent from behind Buff out scratches (hopefully cant really tell from pics) Inspect lip for broken mounts and repair (jb weld can work) Reattach lip and your good. I say this from experience with multiple bumper patches
