My only regret is I waited this long!

Awesome!!! First start is always nerve wracking. It idles fairly good for no tune yet.

Who's tuning it?

After I put the rest of the exhaust on it and hook up the the wide band inside the car I was planning on having Ryan at GPI do it since he seems to know these cams inside out.

And I was also really surprised by how well it idled with no tune. When it gets warm it slows down to around 550 rpm and sounds like it's going to stall, but it never actually stalls.

A couple of notes about the install that I thought were worth sharing:

I bought the following valve spring compressor and it worked really well:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RGFHMJ4

I also bought a pair of these cats which worked ok but the inlet/outlet diameters were at least 1/16" too big. I couldn't get them to tighten on the collectors with the band clamps at first, so I cut four 3/4" long slots (90 degrees apart from each other) and that let me tighten them without introducing any leaks. Aside from that, they seem decent quality.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZYHM84X

I ended up going with the Texas Speed 2" primary headers because the peak torque of this cam is around 5300 rpm, the range 2" work best. The headers are really awesome quality; my step father went so far as to say they were the best looking set of headers he'd ever seen. Fitting them in the 2015 was actually much easier than I anticipated, and re-installing the plugs/wires was easy.

The only downside to these headers was that I did in fact have to remove the rubber boot covering the u joint in the steering shaft. They warn that this is a requirement for these headers on the 2015. The bearings appear to be sealed and I don't drive it in the rain/snow, so this wasn't a big issue for me.

I installed the AEM wideband O2 sensor bung in the header collector and used a 7/8" metal hole saw to cut the opening. I used the rough narrow edge of a file to make a flat spot so the drill bit in the hole saw wouldn't walk, and it also worked better than expected.

Lastly, I used the robertway cam install write up as a guide/checklist. There were understandable differences since it was written for a 2010 and I have a 2015, but in general it was very helpful.I would buy him a beer if he came to Cleveland.

Good choice going with Ryan/GPI for tuning. He did mine as well, it took like 7-8 revisions/datalogs remotely with HP Tuners.

I plan on having him touch my tune up as soon as I get a wideband installed just to get it as perfect as possible.

That's sort of how I read it; he seems really sincere to get it right. Obviously there are lots of good tuners on here, but since this was a GPI cam and his reputation is so high, seems like the logical choice.

Hope your tweaks turn out!

I just got the SS2 kit. The build starts on Tuesday. I hope to be able to take time off work and video dyno day. I should have some great sound clips since I'm putting in 3" cutouts too.

Congratulations - you're going to love it I'm sure.

I actually bought the 3" cutouts, but didn't install them because they hung down lower than I thought they would, unless I turned them towards the center of the car, which I didn't really want to do. I still have them and may put them on before getting the cat-back pipes bent, still trying to decide.

It would definitely be enjoyable to hear that engine with open headers on track day...
