2017 ZL1 - Marble Sound in Front Wheels
All;
Looking for some input - today I heard what is "Mable" sound when turning left and turning right at low speeds. The car has 7100 mi. Rotors? Brakes? Wheel bearing? No issues with stopping and no vibrations. All lugs tight.

Wish I had an answer, might get a better response if you post in Camaro6 ZL1 forum. Good luck.

Do you have the brake air deflectors? Wheels rebalanced recently? If so see if the weights hit the deflector...

No but I was going to take in and have rotated and rebalanced. Maybe that will solve the issue..

I have the same problem going on with my truck. Sounds like front driver side wheel.
It's probably a failed wheel bearing or a unbalanced tire causing vibrations. Good luck. Let us know if you figure it out. |

I had that ‘marble’ noise as well -
Each time my right front tire went 1 ‘revolution’ or around 1X it would click, bump, thump, bang, whatever you would like call it to describe the noise, once you’re going 20-30 mph and it sounds like a bunch of marbles rolling around and the faster the tire turns the more ‘clicks’ there are - I went absolutely bananas trying to figure it out. Clutch in / clutch out no difference, turning the wheel no difference, backwards no difference, engine on engine off no difference no matter what happens there was no difference. My issue would up being my rotor was ‘out of round’ it’s a very silly mistake to make, so when I installed my left front rotor I had ‘rotor run out’ because I didn’t bother to ‘gauge’ for lateral runout, 5 minutes and a gauge to determine the thickness of the new rotor and proper placement and it would have been a very simple adjustment and that would have been the end of it. You can have ‘run out’ for a a bunch of different reasons, there is really no reason that this should of happened, I was lazy and my short cut cost me a small fortune. I had to repurchase all new brake parts which included a new rotors, pads, caliper kit, bushings, bolts and all the other equipment to make sure it sat ‘true’ against the wheel assembly I will NEVER make that mistake again, hope it helps Paul |
