not really an issue with safety standards per se -- but - there are problems with doing a t-top - esp. on a 5th gen.

1. - you would be cutting thru the top - keeping in mind that the rear quarter panel and the a pillar and rocker are one piece -- if you were to cut that, you'd lose a good portion of the tight structure -

--that would also likely affect the 5-star safety rating of the car -- and we all know that all too many Camaro 'accidents' are 'spectacular' in nature...

2. -- one would have to be very tall in order to 'reach' to remove and re-install - (the 5th gen is a bit higher overall than the 3rd and 4th gen.)

.........and before you get upset with me: I am a T-top fan - if the roof doesn't come off or go down, I'm not as happy as I should be.....

I am NOT a T-top fan. That being said, if Chevy chose to make a T-top version why couldn't they use the extra frame and under hood bracing that they use currently in the verts? This would eliminate any structure issues.

If they can get a convertible to pass side safety standards, they should be able to do T-tops. However, I'm not growing my mullet back for anything.

I love it, and t-tops don't matter to me, my big block 3rd gen is a hardtop, I will always have a 3rd gen

Its not terrible, but it looks a bit tooooo much 3rd gennish. The 5th gen looks new, with styling cues that resemble a 69. This looks more like the front and rear bumpers of a 5th gen were bolted to a 3rd gen. But i definitely agree about the t-tops!! ford escorts have a sunroof... But nothing (that i know of) has ever had t-tops that wasnt a muscle car, or something like it!

Personally, I feel that the "hips" of this car, giving it the coke bottle look, are a huge part of what make it beautiful. It's also the reason why the first gens are my favorite camaro.

But, my sig will be a much more accurate drawing if the 6th gen looks like the car in the first post.

3rd gen was a bit too 80's for me, and they don't hold up too well. Just my opinion. Not digging this one. I do like the 3rd more than the 4th.

I am not a big 3rd gen fan BUT I do think that looks good, especially if it had a T-top

I like it. Loved my 92 RS.

My only problem with this is that most things look good in these over stylized drawings with 24" wheels tucked up on non-usable tires. Would love to see a rendering of something just like this in more of a stock, or "factory" form. Some twenty inch wheels and a bit of tire gap like it would roll out of the dealer.

I don't really like it all that much, it's cool looking but not very sleek, I would think it was awesome if it were made instead of the third gen, but not so much as the sixth gen camaro.

I like it!!! That being said: it does look like a 5th gen front & rear facia swap, the wheels and tires are definitely useless in real world terms, they would have to revise the front facia to more resemble the 3rd gen instead of just squishing the facia of the 5th, and if they can't figure out T-tops, I DON'T WANT ONE!

A 5th Gen can have T-tops. You need $10K and a trip to one of the fab shops doing the firebird/T/A conversions
