I am jealous of the lucky folks that will get to own and drive one of these amazing cars. WOW, what a beautiful sound! Now, if we could get one of these in a Camaro.

I am inclined to believe that GM went with the FPC orientation that actually takes advantage of lower reciprocating weight and lesser vibrations. Looking at the intake manifold that is on the LT6, the sound that the LT6 makes...

The LT6 is what is in the C8.R. Now, the one thing I am not 100% positive on is to if Corvette Racing allows that engine to always run to 8,600 RPM or if they regulate the engine to lower RPM's a large part of the time. The reason I even mention this is that, while watching their livestream of LeMans, when they were showing the in-car, drive-view footage, I only saw them going to just under 7,000 RPM. Maybe that was just a LeMans thing and related to a fuel strategy thing though.

well from what i heard those done make 670hp because they are detuned due to rules and regulations and normally they use a intake restrictor to make it more fair i believe

Wow, this is going to be some supercar. I watched the live stream (I wasn't a fan of bringing in the "celebrities"). I wish they would have dove deeper into the technical development and details. Hopefully Hot Rod magazine or C&D and MT write a deep dive article on the engine development as they did with the LT4 (MT and Hot Rod each have a really good article on the LT4).

I have to admit, I previously liked the C7 Z06 much better than the C8 Stingray. That said, the larger wheels/tires, wider fenders, revised front and rear fascia, and the organic rear wing on the Z07 package make a big difference. Now, I'm leaning towards the C8 Z06 over C7 Z06 from a styling perspective. Not to mention an 8600 rpm 670 NA flat plane V8 - it may go down as one of the greatest engines of all time (up there with the Lambo and Ferrari NA V12s, and the Huracan's NA 640 hp version of its V10).

I can see it now… 2022 we sell/trade my wife’s Volt and she gets a Lyriq or Mach E. 2023 I sell/trade my Camaro Fifty vert and grab a Z06 vert. It will take considerable self restraint to not order the Z07 package. Hopefully Chevy will save me from myself and not offer Z07 on the vert.

I’m already practicing my mid-engine chops on an MR2 I picked up a few weeks ago.

It should run quicker then 10.50. We have a stock C8 at our track running really low 11s on street tires. Just think this is only 5.5 liters or 335 cubic inches. It is the best video I've ever seen introducing any car or product. Thx for posting cause its bitchin.
