ROUTE DECISION

A Final Route has been worked out I will try to guesstimate arrival times at each location to get your own idea please use Google Maps and plug in the locations and cities. Again we don't expect the group to stay 100% together as a pack at all times but if your feeling lonely or adventurous you'll have plenty of rally points to re-join on the way down. I tried working in the regular stops for those modified gas guzzlers as well your welcome shawn. I'm using Wal-Mart Supercenters as our destinations because almost every Wal-Mart has a Gas station within a 1/4 miles of it nationwide this is the first time i'm putting a trip like this together where everything is pre-planned so bear with me.

New England Camarovan Abbreviation Key:

FF&S = 1-Hour Food, Fuel & Stretch Stop
F&S = 30min Max Fuel & Stretch

*FF&S Columbus, OH - 148 Miles Arrival/Departure Time: ARRIVAL 6:00am - DEPARTURE 7:00am
Walmart - 3579 S High St, Columbus, OH 43207

- darknightmaro

*F&S Louisville, KY - 204 Miles Arrival/Departure Time: ARRIVAL 10:00am - DEPARTURE 10:30am
Wal-Mart - 2020 Bashford Manor Ln, Louisville, KY 40218

Bowling Green, KY - 121 Miles Arrival Time: ARRIVAL 12:30pm

Thursday Meet & Greet @ Host Hotel 7:00pm - Our trip was designed to give you all coming with us from the farther north areas 5 to 6 good solid hours of sleep time. These are guesstimate times we may run earlier on some or a little later on others there are 2 one hour stop stretch and eat stops one in Buffalo, NY and one in Columbus, OH all other stops are designated Gas & Stretch Stops.

We have not discussed a departure trip back your all free to leave or travel with whomever and whenever you want on the trek back home.

I'm just not sure where I'll be at this point. I'm in the process of moving south, but not sure when due to work situation. I'd love to go, but it's a big question mark right now.

Not sure what I can make this year, but this is on the map for possibilities. I hope to be working on building a new house so I might not be going anywhere!

Just a little info from someone who has done 3 camaro5 caravans in the past
7 years with my '10 SS.

I was never able to get any interest from the N.E. members, but of course there's
a lot more of us now. Returning from camaro5 Indy #1, we stayed overnight in
Columbus Ohio. As I remember it was about a 700 mile trip. It's the only time in
my life that I almost fell asleep driving. Scary shit ! I would suggest a shorter
trip before meeting up with others if you can.....
I did Valdosta Ga with the Mid-Atlantic group. I also went with them to Indy.
I then met up with the Pa group going up to the amazing assembly plant tour.
Also get your rooms at the Guest Hotel as thats where the parties are. So book
early. It's always easy to cancel your reservations at any large hotel.
Good luck getting this caravan going and leave time for the Corvette plant tour
and the museum in Bowling Green..... I've done both and they are great.

Ya I know it's a long trip some of us can do it others are making it a 2-Day affair. Corvette Museum is a must and your right getting groups together for this has always been hard to do because of how long it takes them to plan and when people can get time off. The NH crew just kinda lucked out with it all this year. The assembly plant will be closed during this years camarofest but they're looking into getting special tours.

Take your time, enjoy the journey. Take some of the roads that run parallel to those major highways you listed. Seeing the towns and backroads of America makes those journey's sooooo much better instead of just worrying about getting there.

Oh I agree I've been through the area about 4x now on the way to visit the family in Montana. I'll likely take my time on the way back I just wanna get there and have time for a nap before the meet & greet Thursday night.

Kinda surprised no one else has decided to go but it's expected it is a long trip and a decent chunk of time and money to plan.

Not this time... I checked out. 1168 miles one way and close to $400.00 just for gas there and back. Maybe another year. Have fun Kevin!

Sweet. Me and the crew intend to meet-up beforehand to plan the trip if your down for that sometime in June at a restaurant or car show. We could even meet up half way for most of us in Merrimack at the Outlets for a day of general car guy weirdness. Make sure to book your hotel room somewhere I know the Host hotel is sold-out and the two adjacent ones are almost 100% full.
