LOL OC that is still better that my 1:42-43 times! I am out of tire at this point, so I don't know if it is better to go the route you went, or like you, find another car that is already built. how they ever claim 1:37-8 the way it sits, I have no idea. Obviously I am not a pro or anywhere near one, but I do probably have more Laguna time than many of them.....I would love to see the F1G2's in the 30's, because at this point I have my doubts. At 1:42 I use ALL of the track, rumble strip to rumble strip, so how it gets pushed beyond that.....I don't know

Wonder if a oil cooler set up similar to this would work on a LFX?

I hear you! How the heck Randy Pobst can pilot almost anything to sub-1:40s is beyond me. At our level professional coaching and data acquisition is the key. I hired a coach at Thunderhill where I thought I was fast. Overlaying data from his lap with mine, he was 9 mph faster in turns 1 and 2 and 12 mph faster in 10! His coaching helped me shave nearly 2 seconds off of my lap times.

Yes it would work but would be overkill unless you are putting out some serious HP and heat such as with forced induction.

My 2010 ss doesnt have oil cooler built into rad. Just tranny cooler. Where do my oil cooling lines go? Or am i looking at it wrong? Its not oil to air its water to oil?? That would make sense.

The stock 1LE is a water to oil, the Setrabs are air to oil. Not sure the best way to plumb your car, perhaps call Setrab and ask.

I wanted to bump this thread up as so many of you are still struggling with oil temps. You will not have any issues if you go with my set up. It works remarkably well. If you happen to be in California, have 7's Only Racing do it to your car. They are located at Buttonwillow Raceway. They are a top notch fab house that build and service nothing but race cars.

They may also be able to sell you a parts kit, give them a call if interested.

If I were to do it all over again, I would run exactly this set up.

I'm upgrading my oil cooler core with a much bigger unit, and looking at Setrab's specs, it happens to be at almost exactly 2x the heat removal capacity of one of your cores. In other words, barring air flow, it will be a match with your system in terms of capacity, but with much less drop in oil pressure. I am literally dying to see how it will perform

Couldn't agree more about Tom and Bette. Great people and if I was gonna keep tracking my car regularly I'd be doing this upgrade for sure. He was telling me last weekend he did some work on a camaro so I'm assuming that must have been yours.

I think I am going to move to duals. I was hoping to get by with a single 25 row but it just doesn't sound like it is going to be enough. So now in talks with Improved Racing to add another 25 row cooler. Now I've got to figure out mounting options. Orange looked good but I am planning to run brake ducts on the outer corners of the lower air inlet. Thinking they will be low, flush with the front of the ac condenser and mounted side by side.

New to the forum and new to the Camaro world as well. Just picked up a 2013 1le which will see some track use. With you guys seeing temps in the high 200's, my first mod will be oil coolers, followed by interior safety (undecided on what to do at the moment), at lease upgraded pads and brake fluid and new wheels and tires - all before my first track day.

I spoke to Tom at 7's Only Racing last week and he was a big help. Ordered all the parts for the dual oil cooler setup and should be installing in the coming weeks. I'll try to take some good pictures for a more detailed write-up so others can benefit. Decided to stay away for the big single cooler X25 is using since it will negatively effect the radiator's airflow, though I don't have evidence of this dramatically effecting water temps.
