Got the kick panels finished and tacked in place. I removed the bracing, nothing moved. lol. Then I roughed out the toe board. I will work on that some more tomorrow.

Got the toe board close to final dimensions. I started positioning the steering box and column as well as the front seat, this is where I left off when I started the metal work, ordered the steering shaft and a few miscellaneous pieces needed to get everything mounted, once everything is positioned I can finish the trans. tunnel and floor boards.

She's coming along nicely, should be fun rolling and that tunnel. I'd be scratching my head for a while there lol. Sure is quite the recess you had to put in the firewall too, I never noticed it was that deep before, but looks like it belong there now.

The tunnel shouldn't be too big of a deal, I hope. Lol I could have gotten away with no recess but decided to move the motor back
1 1/2 inches for better weight transfer and more clearance at the front frame rails. It's all wasted space under the dash so this gives me tons of room to work on it and room for other things if needed, such as coil packs etc

Got the few parts needed to set up the steering box and related components. I have everything mocked up somewhat but need to finish the seat first to finalize steering column height and angle. I will also have to mount the front end to make sure the steering box clears. I used the stock seat brackets and decided to make a sheet metal pedestal around them. I will make a frame for the front and put a door on it so it can be used for storage etc. Might as well utilize all the space available. Tomorrow I will get the seat back in to verify the height of the pedestal, if all is good I will get the seat mounted temporarily, finalize the steering column fitment and then finish up the floors.

You remind me of Ian Roussel at "Full Custom Garage" on Motor Trend TV. Just pick up a piece of metal and cut it out like a paper doll. Me - I can't draw a straight line with a ruler -lol.

Got the plates for the seat mounts made up and tacked in as well as finished the pedestal for the seat with the exception of a front door, that's next.

Got the mounting brackets welded on the seat frame and bolted it in, got the steering column mocked up for the final time and started in on the transmission tunnel. Should be able to start on the floor pans tomorrow.

Got quite a bit done. Steering column location and angle has been finalized, steering linkage is all fit and cut to length, steering box needs to have clearance checked with the front end on but I marked it last tie the front end was on so I'm fairly confident this is final. Got the tunnel finished and ready for welding. I marked out the toe board for bead rolling which I will do tomorrow and then I can tack it all together and make the floor pans. I'm not sure if any of you guys are familiar with any of the old school steering so here's a couple of pictures. Manual steering box and cross steer.

Yup looks very familiar, reminds me of my 70 Chevelle although as I recall I had a rag joint somewhere around the master cylinder.

Got the toeboard and tunnel finished up and tacked in place. The two floor pans are next and then I'll make the steering column mounts . After that the front end will go on to check steering box fitment.

It's moving right along.

Got the floor pans cut out and all the holes for rosettes drilled. Tomorrow I have a little welding to do on areas that will not be accessible when the floor is on and have to reinforce the front body mounts. Then I will hit the pans with the bead roller and get them tacked in place.
