I have had ported TBs on my two previous SSes. I did not feel any more power at the drag strip or otherwise. But then can you feel a couple of HP? I perhaps did notice slightly better throttle response I think. Maybe real or imagined. But the mod is so cheap, even if you think you get better throttle response it's worth it.

Well does anyone here think the stock ZL1 needs better throttle response?

I did notice a big difference when I put a TB om my V6 LFX. Been to the track several times with the ZL1 and I never felt the throttle response was an issue. ....

I ported my stock zl1 Tb & i dont think its worth paying for a new proted one cause the gains are unnoticeable , it may add throttle response / hp but rllly u wont feel it ... if you are going to a nickwillaim tb then yeah , that would make a real difference ...

They only work at the 650whp or thereabouts mark. Then you'd want the LS3 one. Properly tuned for it you may see 10hp. A ported stock unit or that vmax nonsense will buy you nothing on a zl1.
