No tonneau cover?

New question:
How many convertible owners never use the tonneau cover with the top down, and do you see any problems with that? Wasn't the cover an option anyway?

I probably do not use mine most of the time. Unless I put it in a show.

Yes, the cover was an option. Lower trim levels did not get one unless ordered.

To me using the cover is about three things. One is the aesthetics of it. Two is protecting the top, storage area, top mechanisms from dirt and dust build up. Three protection from sun, or anything pushing on the top while it's down.

Don't have & don't care. I won't pay 200-250 for something I'll use rarely.

I have one and use it regularly. When the tonneau cover is not on, the top catches wind in the folded down positions and it seems to me that this could be damaging to the top. It also keeps dirt, bugs and debris from falling into the compartment when the top is down. It also just dresses the car up when the top is down.

I use mine if the weather is going to be clear for a while. I also have a cab cover to keep stuff from getting into the interior and to keep the sun off of the leather.

I normally only use it at shows. Used to use it all the time but now rarely while cruising.

i picked up one used last year. Only use it on longish kind of trips.

Easy to put on/take off, less than 2 minutes and gives the car a really nice clean look.

I'd say it's probably ok, but there's a reason they added the folding piece on the gen 6.

I'll use mine if I'm driving on the highway for an extended period, but for just quick hops from work to home driving around 45mph, I don't take the time to put it on. As other mentioned, at shows I will use it just because it looks cleaner.

Were in the 60% use category, I take the highway to work and back and I tend to put it on most the time.

I use mine unless I am just making a quick trip where I won't be on the highway. Just extra cautious since the top seems to move around a bit at highway speed.

I always put it on! I just hate looking it the rear view and seeing the fabric catch wind.

I use the tonneau cover to protect the top from wind damage. If you watch the top when down, you can see just how much the wind flops it around when exposed to the elements during driving. It also keep debris out of the area. Well worth the money. Mine came with the car.
