ZL Camaro from SLP 327,427,454hp & 575-Supercharged

Was at the dealership today and was pulled aside, my friend had two broshures he pulled out of a drawer on the new ZL Camaro by SLP. It's being offered in 327, 427, & 454hp. It's also being offered in a SuperCharged 575hp. The scanned brochure is attached. While you are reading this, I'm scanning the other brochure for the 575hp Supercharged Camaro and will get those pages up in a few minutes.

Supposedly you can contact your local dealer and start ordering these if not tomorrow, very soon. Sorry I don't have more info, I was in a rush.

Knowing that every thread is useless without pictures, here they are for your viewing pleasure.

Nope, I'm not in sales, just love Camaro's and wanted to share.

p.s. if this is old news let me know; he made it sound like this was fresh and hot off the press.

This isn't exactly old news but this package has been offered for at least a few months. I ordered mine early December and am expecting to receive it by the end of January. I can't wait!!! I was told they were only able to build 15 in November and 15 in December but they expect to build about 30 each month now. They are only building 250 manuals and 250 automatics. Most dealers don't know about this. I went to three in the Chicago area and I knew more than they did, and that's not much.

Where did you get your information? This is the first I've heard about it.

If I had known I may have waited a bit longer, or at least given it serious consideration. My hubby says he would have been willing to pay the extra $$ to get a supercharged Camaro. I told him I'm happy with my 400hp and that he can buy his own if he wants to, but he just bought a new truck last week so I doubt that will happen.

Well, even if it is old news, I went through the trouble of scanning the brochure for the 575hp Supercharged Camaro so I may as well put up the pictures.

I saw a ZL575 CGM driving north on El Camino in Redwood City/Belmont on Sunday. We had stopped together in the front of the pack at the light on Whipple and then slowly took off when it turned green. We had a nice open stretch in front of us, and i pulled ahead of him in my sweet Acura MDX SUV and he didn't like that at all.

I had the windows down so I could hear him get on it and that beautiful supercharger whine kicked in as he flew past me hitting 60 in about 3 seconds. The exhaust note was very nice and I LOVE the hood and badge treatments. The only thing I could find wrong was that the new exhaust tips didn't look so good though, as they had a lot of carbon all over the bottom half. Still, I told my wife and daughter that I was getting one of those when the vert comes out.

Are there any performance numbers out for the ZL327? I'm curious what this package would add to the V6. I've searched around and can't find anything.

The Chevrolet Camaro is an automobile manufactured by General Motors under the Chevrolet brand, classified as a pony car and some versions also as a muscle car. It went on sale on September 29, 1966 for the 1967model year and was designed as a competing model to the Ford Mustang. The car shared its platform and major components with the Pontiac Firebird, also introduced for 1967.
Four distinct generations of the car were developed before production ended in 2002. The nameplate was revived again on a concept vehicle that evolved into the fifth-generation Camaro, production started on March 16, 2009.Before any official announcement, reports began running in April 1965 within the automotive press that Chevrolet was preparing a competitor to the Ford Mustang, code-named Panther. On June 21, 1966, around 200 automotive journalists received a telegram from General Motors stating, "...Please save noon of June 28 for important SEPAW meeting.
Hope you can be on hand to help scratch a cat. Details will follow...(signed) John L. Cutter – Chevrolet Public Relations – SEPAW Secretary." The following day, the same journalists received another General Motors telegram stating, "Society for the Eradication of Panthers from the Automotive World will hold first and last meeting on June 28...(signed) John L. Cutter – Chevrolet Public Relations SEPAW Secretary." These telegrams puzzled the industry.
On June 28, 1966, General Motors held a live press conference in Detroit’s Statler-Hilton Hotel. It would be the first time in history that 14 cities were hooked up in real time for a press conference via telephone lines. Chevrolet General Manager Pete Estes started the news conference stating that all attendees of the conference were charter members of the Society for the Elimination of Panthers from the Automotive World and that this would be the first and last meeting of SEPAW.
Estes then announced a new car line, project designation XP-836, with a name that Chevrolet chose in keeping with other car names beginning with the letter C such as the Corvair, Chevelle, Chevy II, and Corvette. He claimed the name, "suggests the comradeship of good friends as a personal car should be to its owner" and that "to us, the name means just what we think the car will do... Go!" The new Camaro name was then unveiled. Automotive press asked Chevrolet product managers, "What is a Camaro?" and were told it was "a small, vicious animal that eats Mustangs."The Camaro was first shown at a press preview in Detroit, Michigan on September 12, 1966 and then later in Los Angeles, California on September 19, 1966. The Camaro officially went on sale in dealerships on September 29, 1966 for the 1967 model year
