Put the New Skinnies & DR's to Work (Media Heavy)
So I took my car to the track last night to see what I could do with her. I was only able to make a few passes but I'm pretty happy with the car as it sits. Got the chance to run a Cobra and a C6 (i'm pretty sure anyway) and then a bye run right before they closed it down. I got a video of each run both on my GoPro and from my wife who was at the fence on the starting line along with some pictures as well. Anyway, here's the eye candy
First run was this Cobra... (forgive the wife, she turned her phone sideways without thinking about it) https://youtu.be/NUMQwLMekZs GoPro of the run: https://youtu.be/zeaMUsnFQ00 And the Timeslip: The next run was me and the Vette. It was obvious the guy was trying to figure out his setup because he seemed to be having a hard time all night. https://youtu.be/XfA5EWFiuzY GoPro: https://youtu.be/VVNQMPe5AZc And the Timeslip: And then the last run of the night was a bye run right before they closed: https://youtu.be/6BEyDXAyxag GoPro: https://youtu.be/734RrJKGS58 Timeslip: Obviously those sixty foots need to come down considering I've got 325 M&H's on the rear but it seemed like the main problem is the fact that I can't get my brakes to hold the car if I bring the rpm's up any higher than ~1500ish. If I could launch from higher in the rpm range then I'm sure those short times would come down and I could get this thing in the high 10's. The obvious fix for that would be what, a converter and a 2-step? I'd like to get her consistently in the 10's as it sits right now but realistically, this was my first real test and tune with the car anyway so I'm alright with it. Here are a few more pics, just because

Yeah man, you need a converter bad. With that stock converter being so tight, you're overpowering the front tires ability to hold you still. Otherwise, just load up the drivetrain enough to get the slack out and hammer it out of the hole. I had the same issues with my 3V and stock converter.

Converter will easily drop 1/2 second off that time. Should be a solid mid 10 second car with converter and some work on that 60'.

That track is pretty sweet, no helmet needed in the 11s.
Solid car my friend.

No helmet? If I ran sub 11.50 here I would get booted. No cage no sub 11.50.
Car looks great, gonna order my welds here asap. |

Thanks guys, the car has AGP twins, Alky meth, Welds with skinnys and DR's and a maganflow catback. Thanks bro, 10's would be awesome You guys are tempting me HARD to throw a converter on it and head back out there. I'm just not sur how strong this stock 6L80 is and I feel like a converter will only add stress and shorten the life of my transmission that I'm already nervous about. But an easy 10 second car is very very tempting

Throw a nice circle D in there and enjoy 10.5s all day long. I dropped .6 seconds in my slow ass wife mustang with just a converter. 60's went from 2.0s to 1.61-1.62.

Another thing I'm not sure about is how my transmission would feel about it. From what Ive found out, this 6L80 is good to 650rwhp which I'm already not too far from. I feel like adding a 3200ish stall converter would put added stress on the already weak link in my equation and I don't wanna push this car to the point of breaking shit. I also want to keep the car very street able. I think it's just more of the unknown from my perspective and the fact that I don't know much about a converter or what the negative effects would be. If I could slap a Circle D in this thing and run 10.5's all day long without any ill side effects then it'd be a done deal, I just feel like that sounds a little too good to be true. But I don't have much experience here so I'm still learning everything as I go, I'm just trying to learn the easy way rather than the harder, more expensive, breaking shit way
