Family VS. Camaro
OK, here's the situation. I have three kids. a 10 yr, 12 yr, and a 15 year old. All three want me to get a camaro (Rally Yellow with Black stripes - wonder why their stuck on that setup????)
Anyway, my wife wants me to replace my sedan with another "sensible" car. She's finally starting to think the Camaro might be O.K., but her one requirement is: all three kids have to be able to ride with me. I'm looking real close and it looks like they MIGHT fit. but can they survive riding in it for 30 minutes? To the movies? sure! From Home to school or activities? Sure! But for an actual drive for any length of time? That's the question. Our other car is a Honda Odyssey. That's her car and the one we would use if we ALL head out. So my question for anyone who might have experience is: Can you realistically fit two Middle-schoolers in the back seat and survive the drive? We used to do this back when I was in high school with a '80 Trans Am, but this back seat looks even smaller (or I'm just a LOT bigger). The other option is getting a family car until my teen gets out of the house, so we're down to two. But I'm not sure if I'll like the Alpha-based gen 6. Thoughts? |

The Camaro is not really a Family Car... It is my Mid-Life Crisis Car... LOL If you want it, get it.. You will make it work either way.

If you can survive scooting your seat up while they're back there, it works. I say go for it.

My 10 and 12 year old fit in the back. I have to fold my 12 year old up to get her in but once she's in, it's all good. Seriously, it's fine with both kids for shorter trips. Anything more than that we take one of the other cars.

I have a 15yr old..when I drive her friends around..they never want to ride in the SUV which is more comfortable, they would rather be crammed in the back of the Camaro..now granted they are teenagers..it is the cooler vehicle..I just find that with my daughter in the passenger seat and her friend behind her..she has to move way up.
She has plenty of leg room BUT, it does cut my visibilty down on that side a bit...but I am so used it... It's not a family car..but I've only got 1 kid..you have 3..that's a tough call...Hmmmmm

Kids are very adaptable, just throw them a portable DVD player and they won't care where they are sitting. My 15 year old talked me into getting the TF Edition SS ... When the three of us go somewhere, I just throw her our 3G iPad and she just chats her time away ... No Problems ... When we take both cars out she just rides shotgun with me or her mom and all is good ...

Wife fits in the back. Not me though!! Put em all on a diet and get the car. I get in first with seat all the way back, then move it forward a good distance.
