i think it's only natural that people gripe about the replacement refs. they suck. lol i don't think anyone is blaming them for sucking, just that something needs to be done.

OH, it's definitely worse. And definitely not their fault.

I believe, given the chance, they'd get better. Let's not forget that the reason the NFL wants to make full time refs is BECAUSE the officiating was so bad in the first place. Not like the replacements but over the past decade, the single most knock on the NFL has been the poor officiating.

I the NFL is happy with the deal then I"m happy.

But just you wait. The refs will threaten a strike before too long.

I can't wait to see the headlines about whatever blown call occurs this weekend under these so-called "professional" referees...

Exactly! As a Seahawk, I'm well aware of how they NEVER make bad calls.

Watch it be another Russell/Tate pass or something. Tate's been a focus of ire for two weeks in a row now

Well it's over now. The NFL most caved.

Expect to be yelling at blind regular referees this weekend.

It was nice to see the real refs back in action. Notice there wasn't a single skirmish? Game wasn't as long, and the refs really commanded the game and kept things in check.

Here's my favorite picture from the replacement refs "era" and it's now my avatar for a bit...

Like anyone of you were good when you had little to no experience in your job. Did your boss fire you because you sucked?

It was the NFL's decision to go forward with the season. They should close down the season when either the players or refs strike.

A lot of people DO get fired because they suck, even in a new profession. It's the "not learning from mistakes" part that gets you fired. It was the 7th game many officiated (just because the preseason doesn't count shouldn't mean the refs couldn't learn from it), but they would still spend 10 minutes discussing something like "We just granted them a timeout they didn't have. Is there a penalty for that?" Evene after being told that it wasn't the bad calls that were the big problem, it was the inability to make decisions in a timely manner - they interrupted the flow of the game.

I respectfully disagree. They should put replacements out there any time ANYONE strikes.

(although the refs were locked out, not much difference though)

Once again, the last strike where the main focus was working conditions was a LOOOOOOng time ago. It's all about money now. I'll NEVER viilainize someone who made legitimate money and wants to keep it.
