Walmart is no worse than our dealers. Read my experience from a chevy dealer. Pick my car up tomorrow, can't wait to see now repair turns out.

Cant tell you how many cars I have to tow from local WalMart to a real shop after they screw it up... see it first hand on my Dads 95 Toyota pickup...

I shop there, buy oil there (mobil 1 5 gal is 21 bux)..

them touch my car or truck or anything...
NOT gonna happen

Pep Boys in my town has a Royal Purple special Filter and 5 quarts synthetic oil for $29.99 add 3 more quarts......total price for me doing it myself (guarantee it will be done right) $46.17 (I'll show photos of actual receipt if you want). I have heard A LOT of horror stories about these 10 minute oil change places not changing filters, forgetting to add oil, and charging WAYYYYYYY to much for their shitty service. I WOULD NEVER TAKE MY CAMARO TO ONE OF THESE COMPANIES!!!!! My .02

I agree- I avoid Walmart like the plague....hate it! They came in and ran everyone else out of town where I live and now they are widening their aisles and getting rid of everything-and prices are jacked WAY up- its a joke! They have a piss poor business model and they do treat their employees like crap. I hate them...I would rather give anyone else my money even if I pay 50 cents to a dollar more an item! I also do not like supporting China either..

really? WalMart prices jacked up? BS

It is thriving because its prices are comparable but mostly lower than anywhere else.

As long as I am still able to change my own oil, I will never take it to Walmart.
I just buy the 5 quart jugs of Valvoline Synpower for $21.

Nope I used to work at a Lincoln Dealership doing both tires and oil. What some of the guys do and dont do to customer cars were appalling. I will never let anyone any work to my SS, Z71 or the wifes Mazda 3 ever. Well except tires I dont have a tire machine and balancer or else I would.

......................Though I am guilty of using Wal Marts SuperTech filters and Syn Oil. Been using them for years in my Sportbikes, cars, trucks, 330AWHP Mitsubishi Evolution 8, and now I did todays first change at 2300 miles on the SS (also did my Z71) I read years ago about a oil test guy compared the oil to M1 and others it was on par with it and the filters were cut open and were built the same as other higher end filters

Man I have watched the guys at Walmart do things and it scares me where I live.

I am lucky enough to be a previous Auto Mechanic ( be it from the 90's lol ) and I never let anyone touch my car unless it is due to something tool/computer I dont have to fix it. I know there are many great hard working people out there in the auto industry but I havent met one yet and I know what goes on when the customer is not around.

For oil changes I personally think if you are of the age to get under your car you need to be doing that stuff yourself. Have someone teach you how to do it safely and you will be amazed how easy it is. Walmart does sell the cheapest oil ( Mobile 1 ) in the 5 quart jugs that I have ever seen as well as filters.

But hey... thats only what works for me. It can get messy if you dont have the garage or the tools.
