So we are agreed... the LS7 is being built and GM needs to put it somewhere?

As to the "spy shot" of the covered-up Camaro sitting glass-less on stands "sitting outside shipping and receiving" in Oshawa...uh, perhaps a Chevy Parts body-in-white (black?!)? Destined to be a COPO? Or...???

It was that kinda deal when we picked up our Firebird BIW @ the Ste. Therese plant in '98...

Oh-OH! There's a black Suburban sitting outside my house...

The LS9 would easily have been a $5,000-$8,000 surcharge over what we have now...for ~620hp. Only ~40 more. People are seeing that with an intake and a tune on the LSA...Then - I wouldn't have been able to afford it - and I wanted/needed a car "NOW"...couldn't wait any longer.

That all said - I'd probably have swung for a 1LE, and forgotten about my sorrows over this hypothetical LS9-powered ZL1. Just glad things worked out the way they did.

My. 02.

I'm all set for another 4-5 years until my car is paid off...then, depending on how the 6th-gen turns out...and what models/engines/performance is offered. I may trade my car in for a new one. We'll see....in the meantime, I'm going to have a helluvalotta fun with the car I've got!!!

That would be a tough trade, no matter how awesome the sixth gen turns out to be. I plan on getting a 1LE and keeping it as long as possible.

I've got a lot of time, thought, money, and emotion invested into my Lazarus...you're spot on: it'd be tough.

But if the 6th-gen is 3/4 as awesome as I expect it'll be...I may not be able to help myself.
