2014 LS Manual Problems

My dad recently passed away and I inherited his Camaro. Its a 2014 LS with 28999 miles on it. He bought it from Carmax with 10k miles on it. I recently had to dyno tune it due to him having a Cam installed. So far I'm getting the error code PO300 which is random miss fires. Another issue which is puzzling me is. When stopping hard and throwing the clutch in my RPM just drop to zero and the engine dies (not stalls) I have to restart the car to get it running again.

If you need any additional information I will do my best to get you that info.

Thank you

If it was just one cam he had installed, that's probably why it's not running right. It may not be matching up to the other cams in the engine. The V6 is twin cam on each head for a total of 4 cams on the engine.

That would be absolute BONKERS to only install 1 when u need 2. Could be the tune. Could be from cheap gas, dirty fuel lines, insufficient fuel pump etc or even from shitty mechanic work. Might be bad springs or etc

Found all 4 of my dads old cams in his shelf out in his patio. So safe to assume all the 4 cams were in deed changed

That's good. As for the misfires, maybe one or more were installed one tooth off or something. May have to take the front cover off to verify if the marks on the sprockets match the chain link dimples.

Not saying this is your problem, but since these issues began after the cam replacement, I'd probably start there.

I'll give the guy a call that installed my dads cams to take a look at them.

Thanks for giving me a place to start looking.
