Spark plugs

What’s your take on plugs.
Looking to go a step colder.
Contemplating go with copper vs iridium or platinum as it conducts better.
Here’s what I got
2013 Cadillac ATS 2.0t AWD.
Custom front mount with 3 inch piping
Custom intake
ZZP catless downpipe
DiabloSport tune will have done by bnr after I replace the plugs

My concerns 2013 had a step colder plug and remap from factory to prevent detonation. When I look up plugs I try and use the 2015 model since the issue was fixed by then.
Too many different company’s out there selling them plugs who do you prefer
Trying to figure out the part number for the colder plug I have read around and too much different info on this. Not trying to blow it up.
It is not drive a lot it’s my weekend car I have put less than 200 miles on it in the past 4 months. If I have to replace plugs every 10k it is not a big deal.

Thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I am currently using NGK 6510's, they are still iridiums. They are one step cooler. There are a bunch of pre-gap options for that plug on various ecoboost websites.

Depending on the winter E85 mix at my local pump, I may swap in 2 step cooler platinum plug. For that I will use some motorcraft sp-524's.

One thing you don't mention, but should consider, is what gap will you run.
Really need to log data to make sure your not having an issue there.

As suggested by VT, I use Denso ITV24 5341 spark plugs gaped at 0.028" or .71mm

My .02, I went with the Denso ITV24 and it was better than stock. I switched though to the same plug allot of the new ZL1 guys are using and they are awesome! Brisk racing plugs. Look them up, and learn I just pulled mine and they are perfect heat range for the boost and timing most tunes run in these cars.

I liked the denso plugs myself. ITV 22 would be one setup colder.

don't go colder than you need to, performance can suffer noticeably.

I was looking at the Brisk they are silver core apparently much better conductivity and conduct heat better as well

My tuner just told me about them this morning.. Says can run more timing as they are colder, but don't run poorly in low rpm/idle situations like an itv24. I'm going to do some research on them and maybe order a set. I Had ITV22's on order, but UPS had an accident and ripped the packaging and they fell out, were lost... So I need to order plugs again anyway... Might as well try the brisk.

Hello Timothy,

One heat range colder than factory is the following part number:

BRISK Silver Racing RR14YS (Projected insulator tip)

BRISK Silver Racing RR14S (Non-Projected insulator tip)

I would advise highly against the projected tip when a non projected tip is an option.

May I ask why? I honestly never knew much of a difference in plugs prior to reading anything about them. It seems the projected tip centers the spark better in the chamber and burns cleaner.
