Front License Plate installation

2010 SS. I got a ticket for no front license plate (CA problems). I don't want to drill into the bumper. I wanted to install that retractable license plate bracket. Do you recommend that? Doesn’t look like the front grill has room for this installation and would have to install it under the bumper. Has anyone else already done this?

I got one from JacFab. No drilling required. It connects to the existing holes underneath. It is a bit expensive but it is a quality product. Only takes a few minutes to install and they give you the hardware needed.

Zip ties are the ultimate money saving option, get them tight enough and it stays off your paint too!

I needed to get a tow hook receiver on my 2013, so did the drill into the crash bar method ala ZL1 add ons tow hook and plate kit. Had the bumper cover off anyway for an oil cooler install so it was easy.

If I didn't need the tow hook I'd probably go with something like the Jacfab, super easy install.
