ET Street R Bias-Ply

Is anyone using these tires? Looking for reviews on it and can't seem to find anyone running them on a 5th Gen. These will go on 17x10.5 race star, LS3 pushing around 860 rwhp.

A friend has about 800 hp... broke an axle at the track on regular drag radials. Upgraded to 1000hp axles and twisted the drive shaft. Being that those are bias ply... they are going to hook... better make sure the driveline can handle it.

I ran this tire for a little bit in the heat. They definitely hook at low psi (12-13). My wheel speed went down and so did my sixty ft launching at 5000 grand compared to a 26-27” 325/335 series DR with a 11-12” tire patch. I believe you will need a 2 step and come out with boost to make this tire sixty foot in our heavy ZL1s.

This bias ply is 28.5” tall and 9” wide. You will will also need a bias front skinny. Tire walk is hellacious on the big end without one. I ran a 5” MT Sportsman radial up front and it was sketchy at 14 lbs in the Street R bias ply.

I switched back to MT Street R radial 325/18/35 and hit my best sixty foot PB last week in good air.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info Nassty. I plan on running with with a M&H 28x4.5-17 bias up front. My car is an SS just have some ZL1 upgrades on it. I was running the MT street r radial when my car had a blower, but keep reading everywhere that bias tires are better for manual cars so decided to give it a try. Two step is in the works just had to install it.

You’re welcome 760bowtie. I really liked the Bias Street R and now see it is the best tire for a Manual Car. You can practically dump the clutch at low tire pressure and the tire takes all the abuse.

I just hated to see all my MPH and wheel speed go away with good air coming down here. I’m in a full weight ZL1 and need to get this load out the hole. I think the 2-step is a key piece of the combo to make this tall slick take off.

I will eventually go back to this bias tire. It actually helped me find a better clutch release point on making the DR work.

Have fun with it Man.

I use et street r bias on my zl1 around 700rwhp with no 2step. Working on my 60' but i run them around 20psi. And have 8" wide radials in the front I run at max psi and have no sway during the entire pass. I like that the tires are absorbing some shock. Here is some wrinkle leaving at like 3k rpm. Somewhat slipping clutch. I forgot about the mph factor, maybe i would have broke 130 already on a radial lol

Is this the only bias ply tire you’ve used? Seems like the Hoosier 28x10 bias is more popular with forum members.

Yes. My first drag pack. They are 28x11.5 this is also street legal. Closest street legal tire to a slick you will find. The hoosier your talking about is a slick i believe and not street legal.

What 60' have you ran with them and have you driven on the street with them at all, any guess how long they would last say compared to a et street r radial?

Best 60' so far, still dialing that in. That was leaving at like 3k rpm. I just got this set replaced on warranty and only have 5passes on them but the set for warranty i had probably 30passes or so with a few hundred street miles. They still had plenty of tread. Obviously depends on burnouts too but you should be able to get 75 passes or so out of a set.

Gonna try the et street r bias ply 28x11.50-15 on my 905whp stick shift car, was between them and a Hoosier qtp which some do say is better at the track but the MT may be more "street-able". Have an hour drive each way to the track so I'll let you know how they work for me
