Need Opinion on my situation

Ok dont hate me but here it goes.

I got a call from another dealer today about an order for the Zl1 because I was second on the list for only 1 allocation. Well, person #1 backed out and doesnt want it. So, Its a 1k deposit and its at MSRP. Problem is this. I already have an absolute secured order and already have a early order number at another dealership but its 5k over MSRP. The 1k deposit for this new dealership is non refundable so if I get "priced out" I lose my 1k deposit. The dealership where I already have my order # thru is fully refundable meaning I can back out at anytime during the ordering process.

So, I called the dealership where I have the order and explained to them that you have to do better than the 5k over MSRP because I got another offer at MSRP. They called back and said no deal because 5 others are behind me so let us know if you want us to cancel your order as soon as possible so we can give it to someone else.

My question is this. Do I call this dealership and but the 1k down and just have 2 orders go until the very end and then back out of the refundable one? Or do I do the right thing and cancel my order and go with the MSRP one.

I just really dont want to cancel my order and only find out that this dealership is not truly getting a allocation (even though they said I will get a order # when I call and put the deposit down). Find it kind of odd that they have 1 allocation and the 1 person is actually backing out.

Forgot to add... Or do you tell dealer # 1 to keep the order for now but that I will be placing an order with another dealership and if I get it I will cancel this one? Cause even though my deposit is appearenly refundable at dealer #2 Im willing to bet once it hits 3100 they wont give me my money back.

Get confirmation or order number on the 1k deposit one. After that cancel the 5K one. Thats what i would do.

I'm not sure what the status 2000 is. I would place the order and wait until they 100% confirm that I'm getting the one that they are allocated. Once they do that then cancel the 5k order

.

I feel your pain, toilets.

I had to tell my dealer that I had been with for six months that I wasn't paying an extra 5k. They had promised me MSRP & then reneged.

Get the order number with your name on it from the MSRP dealer. If you're sure his allocation belongs to you, try to get your deposit back from the other folks.

It will probably be a $4000 savings and a $1000 dollar lesson in only giving deposits to MSRP dealers.

Sorry Bro.

Easy.....cancel the $5k over MSRP and take what's behind door #2. If you're "priced out", I guarantee you can recoup your $1k deposit by selling the allocation to someone on here.

Just because you have an order number doesn't mean that there is an allocation for your order............................
It only means that the order has been placed in the system.

yeah thats why I think it may be best to wait to 2000 order status- which is: (2000) Order accepted by GM. Dealer used allocation to place order into production.

I would see if the one you placed the 1k deposite with would let you buy
some GM products for your ZL1. Such as floor mats, the other set of rims
or what ever else that you can purchase. This way they still make a profit
on the items they sell you and it's not a total loss for you. If they have
buyers in the wings and if you drop out they should meet you half way. Reputation is a bitch to repair for any business. Esp since the economy really sux atm. Good luck!

Do the right thing (ie cancel your current order), but wait until your order is "secure" with dealer number 2. You won't be priced out. All indicators are an MSRP in the mid 50's, and you already assumed as much.
