Jeff Gordon's last full season.
Just heard Jeff announce this will be his last full season competing for the championship.
JMO but he is the last of the real deal. Ever since the chase started and last seasons circus show, Nascar is now a circus.

Agreed. As a driver, you can't just go out and dominate. They have changed the rules so much, the drivers, crew chiefs, and fans don't know the rules. In order to make it more "fan friendly" or to make it more 'challenging' for the drivers, all you do is have to whine one year and the rules are changed. NASCAR forgot their roots, and greed took over.

I think most people kinda saw this coming. Chase Elliott was/is being groomed for that car. I just don't think anyone knew he'd be ready so fast.

are there any young drivers that are really popular? when i think of NASCAR i think Gordon, Earnhardt, Johnson, Stewart. Some of the other guys that win i don't think are real popular.

Now would be a good time for Hendrick to get the 9 from Petty if they have time to stop the Hornish printers, lol.

NASCARs roots is buy on Monday, race on Sunday. Win on Sunday, sell more on Monday.
That's NASCAR to me. Buy a car, knock the Windows out of it, put a cage in it and go racing.

Not a fan of Gordon, but he is a Hendricks team mate, so I am sad to see him go. Hoping they pick up Chase Elliott. I love that kid! So far he seems like a good driver and I think he'd fit in well with Johnson, Earnhardt Jr, and Kahne.

All great careers must come to an end sometime. It's hard to believe his first NASCAR Sprint Cup (Winston Cup, at that time) race was in 1992. That race in 1992 was the beginning and end of an era. Gordon's first race was Petty's last race.
I sometimes wonder how long Dale Earnhardt's career would've lasted....

Dales career would have lasted maybe another year. I believe he was ready to give it up too.
