I was refering to the Camaro being 4,000 lbs. It may be a little bit of a stretch but not much as I ordered a L99/Auto car. I'm assuming the Auto is going to weight in 30#'s heavier then the stick version which comes in at what 3860? My Z is a 07 that is a hefty pig itself with the iron LSX, Twin Turbo's and auto conversion. I'm guessing it weighs 3500ish. Can do a search on Youtube for LPFSTheFett to see some of the videos. Now the goal is to make the Camaro much faster! |

I'm pretty sure he was talking about the supposed Z28 with 550+hp. Which those mods might get him to 600 flywheel hp. |

Do you mean from stock the z28 would beat a SS of the same year and both stock?

right now, the SS is the top model. because there are only 2 models being made right now. if a Z28 is made, it will out perform an SS of the same year. during the 4th gen years, GM already knew the f-body was on the cutting board. they made 2 models, the v6 and the Z28. one base and one top model. then in 96, SLP started modding Z28's and rebadging them as SS/Z28s. GM jumped on board with that and started pushing the SS package. for the fourth gens, the SS was the top car over the Z28 after 96. there have been other years where the SS has had more hp than the Z28, but the Z28 was never just about power, it was about overall performance. and GM has stated that if/when they build the Z28, that they want it to live up to its hallowed name.

Yea I kind of thought the cam size they went with was a bit excessive, but I guess it was all to prove a point. Which they did spectacularly.
