Question Third USB Port

I recall seeing discussion of a third USB port mounted under the dash. Does anyone else remember this? If so, can you point me to the thread. I cannot seem to find it.

I posted a pic of the usb earlier this year, wasn't actually much of a discussion except conjecture on what it may be for. And that was limited as far as input. Not sure if this is the thread your referring to or not.

If only gm world release something, perhaps in a book form that would describe repairing and part numbers and thus the function of such parts to a place that could sell this book to consumers and shop owners.

If only

Is it on the driver's or passenger's side. Is it easy to find. Maybe for the PDR?

I just looked, I don't have the port, but I did see where one could snap in. Drivers side, left, to the right of all the plugs.

That was it. Thanks!
I got curious and wondered if anyone ever figured out what it was for. I guess not.

I will be mounting a spare Android phone dedicated to use with Android Auto. With so little space in the center console, I was wondering if I could use that third USB port and velcro the phone under the dash.

I knew the clusters were different between the LT and SS, I didn't realize they were actually different sizes though.
