X-Pipe Question

Just recently purchased a Flowmaster 3" American Thunder cat back and I'm curious if their x-pipe is good enough. I plan on buying headers in the spring and don't know if I should buy them with a mid section to replace the Flowmaster x-pipe? What do you guys suggest?

Flowmaster likes to call it an X-pipe, but you will notice there are no bends on either side of the join to encourage crossover. H-pipes are not useless, but i prefer the tone of a true X-pipe.

So are there any benefits to getting the mid section with the Longtube's? Or am I okay with the flow master mid section?
