Finally got some new rubber installed, went with MPSS.
285's up front and 295's in the back.

I bought a set of ZL1 brights from another member here with MPSS on them, and here is my take:

The ride is the same, the handling is night/day to the mpss's side.

I thought the goodyears were awesome, then I got the mpss. Ran both on new orleans Motorsports park track in 2 cconsecutuive days, and the difference is amazing.

The MPSS are worth the money and stand up to the hype.

The Ride quality is the same as the good year's, I've noticed a lot less road noise with the MPSS. I haven't had the chance to put them to the test to comment on handling.

That 10mm difference means you cant rotate and get the most miles out of those tires. You cant even see a difference in 10mm. Makes no sense to me especially considering how expensive they are. At any rate, they look nice and heres to many happy miles and smiles.

Wouldn't matter anyhow unless to rotate them he would dismount the tires on the front wheels and remount on the rear wheels. Front and rear wheels are different width's and different offsets. The rear wheels are for the rear only and the front wheels are for the front only.

Most people are not going to pay $100+ every 5-6K miles just to dismoutn and remount their tires in order to rotate them.

The fronts are 10'' wide and the rears are 11'' wide. I didn't care for the stretched look of the 285's on the rear. Although they are only 295's the MPSS tend to fit a little larger then other tires.

I disagree. The goodyears are more responsive than the PSS when at the limits. Where the PSS shine is warm up time, holding up in inclement weather, and longevity.

I ran the PSS on a different car though where you have run them on a track with the same car so I respect your opinion. Probably need to hit the track soon to see if I'm still of the same opinion.

a couple of the more hardcore track guys on this forum hated the MPSS when they did the switch on their 1le.

I too have the 295/285 MPSS setup and also love them. Had them for almost a year now and even tracked it this past spring at TWS. Did awesome. I dont doubt that with a really good driver that the F1's will do a little better with extreme track use. But at my skill level, its a moot point. And with street driving the MPSS's dominate the F1's. Better traction 99% of them since rarely you can get the F1's hot & sticky enough on the street to allow them to surpass the MPSS's ability. When both are Just normal warm, the MPSS just kick butt. Then add in cold and wet weather, it's no contest.
The only negatives for me on the mpss is the higher cost and limited availibilty. I recently picked 2 stupid screws in one back tire. Took it to discount tire to try to fix it, though i feared they couldn't do it due to one being on a tread edge. And yeah they couldn't fix it and they couldn't even special order them. No store or warehouse of theirs in the country had one. So I personally plugged it. I'll eventually replace it from one of the very few internet companies that have them. But as long as it holds air ok, i'll try to get a few more than the 3500 miles I have on it now. Just no tracking or super aggressive driving for me until then.

Looks like the rear 295 fills the rim pretty good, so does the 285 front bulge out being that these run a little bigger?

I run the exact same set up 285/295 MPSS and love em. They will last at least twice as long As the GoodYears and they don't throw rocks. Looking to go with 305's in the rear next.
