High End HID Bulbs: Worth it?

I started doing some research if HID bulb brands are equal and found out they are not.
I always believed that the OEM bulbs that GM uses are lacking in brightness compared to other vehicles I've had and aftermarket conversions. I tried adjusting it to different levels and result was about the same.
Now that it's getting darker earlier, I can definitely tell ours is "weaker" compared to other cars, but I did notice I was next to a new Cadillac ATS and both our HIDs "sucked"

So I just believe now that GM uses crap quality when it comes to HID bulbs.

I started doing research and it seems that the best quality and brightest bulbs are the Philips Ultinon or the Osram brands.
I did some searching and wow..
Prices for Osram range between $160-$200 (pair)
Philips $350+ (pair)

Was wondering if anyone has experience with these brands in the Camaro?
