Does the ZL1 have Remote Start?

I have a manuel zl1 on order. Will it have a feature where I can start the car from my smart phone or when in range from my key fab? Will the automatics have this?

it's the best feature for driving in winter... (warm your car up)
it's the best feature for driving in the summer... (cool your car down)

if it doesnt come standard can it be something I can install aftermarket?

Automatic, yes. Manual, no. <----Safety reasons.

that's a bunch of bull... are you telling me in 2017 we can't figure out how to add REMOTE START to a Manuel car? How about the car only starts when parking break is on and not in gear... or car only starts when parking break is on and not in gear and the only way to change gear is when brake pedal is depressed?

seriously... come on GM!!!!

It can still be done but just with an aftermarket self-starter kit such as the Viper 4806V.

I would challenge you to try and find a car with a manual transmission that is factory-equipped with a remote start function from any manufacturer....

This has been a long-time thing in the auto industry: Remote-start with auto, not with manual transmissions...

You can get a remote-start system from the aftermarket. But most of the good ones require you to perform a sequence of steps before shutting down the car to ensure it will successfully (and safely) remote start the next time you press the button.

I think one of the systems was called "Viper", last time I looked into it.

It will never happen from the manufacturer due to all the idiots out there that will some how find a way to start it while in gear and run over someone. It's called CYA. Even if they would do it, it would be so difficult to perform that people would complain about it. Kind of like the line lock being buried in the setting screens.

I leave my manual cars in gear when I get out. There's no way a remote start system would work in my case.
