Edelbrock 12 Inch Runners?
I have only seen one Dyno graph for the Edelbrock E-Force, but it did look like the torque numbers were bit higher than other superchargers. Do you think the 12 inch intake runners are making that big of difference? I am trying to decide between a Whipple\KB and the Edelbrock E-Force.
The Whipple made 603rwhp, 18 deg locked timing, 12.1 A/F, 538tq, 8.5psi. Here are a E-Force and a KB at 9lb of boost. |

I think 18 deg locked timing, 12.1 A/F at 8.5 PSI on pump gas is Suicide but explains the 600 RWHP.

Need to see both blowers at even higher psi and know how the driver is going to be using the car before you determine if it is "worth it" or not.

The 12-inch long runners will help with low-RPM torque. Personally, I think the twin-screw compressors are a bit big for running low boost, under 12 or so pounds. In my opinion, the graphs you posted are indicative of an Edelbrock blower running more within its efficiency range; the KB and Whipple compressors require more boost to operate within their respective efficiency ranges. Want further proof? Just look and see what Harrop's little 1.9L TVS is accomplishing with relatively low amounts of boost.

578 RWHP/595lbtq.........plus used smaller pulley to compensate for altitude, live at over 5000ft, could you imagine at sea level what this would be?

That's nuts to think you can take different dynos on different cars on different days under different conditions and somehow come to a conclusion as to which one makes more hp/tq per pound of boost. Find a shop you trust using a blower that's proven and go with it. It's that simple. Don't over complicate it.
If you find a shop that claims his 'charger hugely makes more with less, run away. He'll lie about most everything else too. |

Old motorhead sums it up..
U cant tell which setup makes the most hp/lb by comparing different dyno's/temps/times etc.... There is no one best supercharger, all of them seem to work well. Pick you poison and have fun
