cam update

Quick update - Today we are installing a Comp Cams turbo-spec camshaft, with reverse-split-duration lobes.

Check back soon for updates on how the car runs with this cam profile

Here are the latest updates:

Red: Phastek X5 Camaro w/ Turbonetics Turbo Kit - stock cam - 9 psi - 555 rwhp
Blue: Phastek X5 Camaro w/ Turbonetics Turbo Kit - COMP cam - 9 psi - 625 rwhp

We picked up 100 Horsepower at 6,300 rpms with the new Camshaft and Valve Springs, compared to the stock cam and valvetrain. We also raised the rev limiter / redline a little bit as you can see in the graph. Both pulls on 93 Octane pump gas.

It's not the "biggest" cam in the world, but it seems to work pretty well on this setup. This cam didn't really pick up a lot of low end power or change the spool time, but the car definitely pulls a lot harder past 6,000 rpms.

Next on the list is the Water/Meth injection kit, then we may try and customize the turbo kit a little, and reduce the hot side piping to see if we can get it to spool even faster on the street.

Looking good, any video clips with the new cam?

You plan on adding boost along with the meth? I have heard a couple times that 10psi is the max for the undersized 68mm turbine wheel are you going to prove us wrong? I hope so.

We switched back to the stock exhaust manifolds, and used JBA cat-delete pipes. You could use their shorty headers and be legal in California, but you would need to have the stock cats on the car.
