Worlds fastest ZL1?

I must admit that I have not been closely monitoring this board so I may have missed other fast guys... but I increased my personal best at the Texas mile this weekend and as far I know no one has "officially" gone any faster in a ZL1...Coments?

That's moving right along. I have never run the mile but have run 173.2 in the half mile at Wannagofast event.....Looking for 180+ in January. Going to try and get signed up for the Texas Mile next year......

That's impressive!

Wasn't there a IOM 'vert that ran 225? Maybe that wasn't a ZL1?

Very nice run. The fastest I went in my previous ZL1 was 143 on the backstretch at VIR. And I thought THAT was fast! (Oh, and there was a turn at the end...)

If you don't mind me asking what kind of tires did you run in that half mile event? Texas mile doesn't allow drag radials and has mediocre track prep... traction is a big challenge in the first 1/2 mile at Beeville....

I know what you are talking about at VIR, I can get 155 on the 2000 ft back-straight at Eagles canyon before a tight 90 degree left hander. It really heats up the rotors.

Snappy was the fastest Camaro in his 2010 SS convertible. I did hear he got 225 after I left for home. I have never been able to run as fast as Snappy...yet.

Snappy

Actually SNAPPY reset the WORLD RECORD for fifth gens to 226.3. The previous record was 225.8. Prior to that SNAPPY had the fastest at 225.3.

As stated he runs a FIFTH Gen Camaro SS CONVERTIBLE.

I have a 15 inch conversion and was running M/T drag radials....I must say though with all the sidewall I have that slick walk is crazy over 160. There is no track prep at Wannagofast either. Sure would be nice though.

I can't imagine trying to hold a car in line at 200+ with cross winds on drag radials. Even with the road racing tires it will move 5 feet right or left with a good side gust.
