We must be driving GM crazy

Just wanted to remind people to consider the additional costs for all the requests for different options and combinations. Don't get me wrong, I don't like the trend, as I really want a jetstream blue 2ss/rs with silver(non-polished) rims. Seems reasonable (except maybe the vette color) but when you consider all the possible combinations and the need for them to keep price low and basic content as high as possible, I think we have to be willing to accept a few less choices.

So far people want blue(s) offered on the SS, polished rims available on the RS, leather without the 2lt/2ss, jetstream blue (i started that one), and I am sure there are plenty more.

I mean, we can all petition for what we want but in the end I think GM will have to dissapoint some people who would like to mix and match options to keep production costs down.

I would hate to frustrate the people from GM that have been trying to satisfy everyone to the point that our input is less meaningful because they figure they just can't make everyone happy.

Just my two cents...

They would rather give us what we want than give us what they THINK we want. They've already changed alot of things due to feedback. It's impossible to change direction in the middle of a run, but they're listening...Thanks GM for listening. squeak squeak (squeaky wheel)

I think we've all been waiting on this car for so long that we will annoy/pester both GM and the GM dealers.....we just can't help ourselves. I'm sure most of us had our dream camaro all built in our minds and will do all we can to make that camaro a reality.

The bottom line is, for me anyways, that I will be 100% happy just to get into one that's close to my dream camaro.....

+1 I know they aren't going to make everyone happy, the fbodfather said this a while back too but they allowed me to get as close as possible to the perfect car I want. After I sit in my Camaro the first time, this will automatically turn into my dream car.

Yeah I want the HUD and probably a couple of things but again, close enough. The biggest thing for me was for it to look as close as possible to the Concept and they did an incredible job with that. Everything else is icing on the cake for me.

They need us to drive them crazy, it shows them how much we love the Camaro. Our passion pours out and advertises for the Camaro... everyone at my office feels the excitement I have for this car.

Perhaps, some of GM issues in the past have been due to them doing what they want and not want the consumers wanted, Just a thought. Consumers have lots of choices in the auto market, outside of GM.

Some of our requests don't seem too complicated or unreasonable.

GM should be able to correct something in order entry to allow ordering the RS option package and then adding the polished 20s on top of that. This just really shouldn't be a big problem to overcome.

The two blue colors are available on the V6 but not the SS? GM either has to make them available on the SS or else just give us a reasonable explanation of why they can't. We'll accept it if there is a genuine reason behind it.

Some of us really want the HUD option on our Camaros. That's not GM's problem - that's our own. They said it would be available later on but not at the start of production. If it is that important, quit complaining and wait for it.

Some of us really want an SS badge in the center of the grille instead of the bowtie emblem. Leave GM out of that and wait for it from the aftermarket.

Some people want to order options individually instead of in package groups. If you want leather front seating surfaces, then buy the 2LT or 2SS trim package. Options have been bundled together in packages for years now. It makes planning for and purchasing the package components much easier for the car manufacturers.

And stop asking GM to add new things to the 2010 model year Camaro, like jetstream blue paint. It only diminishes our requests for them to paint the SS model in the 2 blue colors already scheduled for the Camaro V6s. We need to stop asking for every thing we think of and focus on a couple of our requests that should be the easiest for GM to accommodate.

I think as long as we keep out comments constructive and reasonable, anyone at GM would not consider them anything but. They know they can't make everyone happy, but I'm sure they want to make as many happy as possible, especially with how things are right now, economy-wise. Please, just keep things constructive, and I'm sure they'll take them into consideration

I know there may be heated arguments with the beancounters. If it costs $1.00 more per car, thats $100,000 per year more. So I can empathize.

I wouldn't say you're (as a group) driving us crazy........

............we're blessed to have a group of people who feel so strongly about the Camaro!

We DO listen -- and there ARE changes coming -- that said, what DOES drive me crazy is "the car should weigh 3000 pounds, have 400 horsepower and cost $20,000 -- and if it doesn't you're (GM) a bunch of losers!" (and yes -- I've gotten a note to that effect..........)

It's important to get your feedback -- that said, there ARE reasons to curtail option counts-- that's what holds costs down -- it eliminates a ton of part numbers-- and it aids in building a quality product. (if we built every car the exact same way, they'd have a perfect build...........)

Please -- tell us what you want -- but also understand that IF we don't or can't do what you ask -- please don't scream "TYPICAL GM!!" -- because that's simply not fair - and it's not true.........

In all honesty...the pricing is ridiculously good...providing the car lives up to expectations as they've been set over the course of the last year.

I'm sure there's a multitude of reasons for the configuration options as they exist, certainly most of which serve to control cost and allow GM to deliver at the exceptional price point. The fact that they are positioning GMPP to deliver at launch clearly indicates an understanding of the communities that will look to this car and offering to fulfill that 'need'. While it may not be on the order sheet...it looks like most of it will be in the parts bin.

I have really been impressed with GM's launch of the car to date...very impressed. Now...BMW sent me an invitation to drive the new M3 on the ring....I'm still waiting for that invitation from GM...

...edit...I was typing as fbodfather was posting....oops
