Review: The Rag Company MF Towels
If you are into detailing, you know how expensive it can be to build an arsenal of quality microfiber towels. There's a few retailers selling the "good stuff" - Pakshak, Carpro, Adams, etc but you will pay an arm and a leg. Well those days are over (at least for me)...
I came across this little company after seeing a review on Autopia showing their lineup of Korean made microfiber towels. The quality of the towels looked great and the pricing was almost unbelievable. I decided I had to try for myself... Here is a look at the towels I have purchased so far: My first order was a few of the Detail Master PRO Eagle Edgeless Orange / Blue towels (Specifications - 80/20, 500GSM, Ultrasonic Cut, 16″x16″). I have been wanting to try an edgeless towel since they are getting so much attention these days. Ordered these on a Friday morning (every Friday is free shipping) and they arrived Monday afternoon. Similar towels sell for $8-11 a piece elsewhere, but these are currently running $22 for a (5) pack!! Definitely well made, super soft and a great value. I use these for quick detailing. They also throw in a freebie with every order. This order I got a sunglass and lens cleaning cloth. Since I knew I was dealing with legit Korean spec microfiber, I made my second order the following Friday. First item was one of their winter specials, a (10) pack of their DETAIL MASTER PRO Super Plush Blue with Satin Edge towels (Specifications: 80/20, 500GSM, South Korea, 16″x16″). Basically the same pile as the edgeless towel but with a satin border. These will be my go-to rinseless wash towels. The current special is a (10) pack for $25!! Getting towels of this quality for $2.50/ea is insane compared to the other retailers. Second item was a (16) pack of terry weave towels in assorted colors. For $15 I figured I would give them a try over the bulk towels I have been using for the "dirty" detailing jobs. The colors will be nice for dedicating towels for specific purposes. On this order (total $40 shipped for 26 towels) they threw in a metal polishing towel (Detail Master PRO The Miner: Premium Metal Polishing Towel - Specifications 80/20, 350GSM, Overlock, 16″x16″) and a waffle weave applicator! Both are excellent quality. I would highly recommend trying these towels and the others they offer. The quality and value make it a no brainer for me - I just wish I could sell back my $10/ea plush towels from the other companies...live and learn. Questions or comments are welcome. That looks like a heck of a deal. Any chance you could post a link to where you ordered them from or PM me? I've been meaning to order some of these... Thanks!

Cool, I'm looking at the Auto Detail kit so a garage hack like me has all I need to detail my one car.
Thanks for the link!

Thaanks for the review! As with the headlight restoration, please keep us updated on durability. For that price though, it seems really hard to go wrong.

Free shipping every Friday. And both orders I had a tracking number in like 15 minutes. Check out the "Bevs Bargains" on the site, that's where the killer deals are...

I have no doubts about the quality of these towels. They have all been used and washed twice with no issues... |

I just spent a couple hundred at CarPro, half of that on MF Madness. That translated into 12 towels. Just spent the same money at the rag company on what appears to a similar products. Ended up with 42 towels. It will be interesting to see how they compare

I too ordered some of their towels and I got an assortment. I will say that the quality is good. These towels are above anything you could get from a large box store. They are not nearly as good as the MF Madness line and are right under the BOA towels in softness and workmanship. When I get a chance I will post up some of my photos and my thoughts as well. I have yet to get their 1400 GSM towel... it was out of stock the last few times I checked.
Thanks for the thread. |
