I got gas. I tried to have class but at my age, everything just kicks your back door down and walks at without warning.

Waterless wash for dust after M-B Ponton sitting for 3 years in garage?

Junkman, I'm new to the site and to caring for the paint of my car. I want to bring back to fine shape a 1962 Mercedes-Benz Ponton 180 I have. I know this is a Camaro forum (which I love) but since there appears to be a great deal of knowledgeable folks here, I figured I'd post my question.

Would the dust on my M-B Ponton be a good candidate for a waterless wash? Since there is no caked on dirt, droppings, or anything like that. Just pure dust from sitting in the garage for three years.

Thank you, in anticipation of your help,

Carlos

Not speaking for the junkman, but if it has been sitting for three years I would say warsh it.

That's even the exact way that I would say it.

FireHerUp, go back and watch these videos again. I specifically give you a benchmark as to when dust removal is appropriate. If this dirt won't blow off the car, then it is caked on the car.

13lstuner, charlietuna, and Junkman,

Thank you mightily for your replies. Looks like a two-bucket warsh, Junkman-style, is in order.

Junkman, I will review the vids in this thread. There are a lot on your Youtube channel and I have enjoyed several of them. I'm in the middle of sourcing the equipment for the two-bucket wash system you put together. Figured maybe I could get away with just the dust removal. I've never owned a leaf blower, but I plan to check out a nearby Sears for an inexpensive one. I think a good bit of the dust on the Benz would blow off. However, the two-bucket wash will and should be done.

Thanks again guys for your help!

C.

It really was... I've been to them all but there was a bit of magic going on at the first one that's hard to duplicate but we will try it again in two weeks.
