>>>I don't know what "cinders" are....

I don't either and Google didn't return much other than some kind of road treatment.

What is it,... inquiring minds want to know ?

right now the road crews are out patching pot holes with that nasty cinder like asphalt... you know the big shovel full stuff... while i do my best to avoid it there are times you simply cannot... and I cringe every time I hit the stuff...

I also have the same problem. I don't even drive it in the winter, the paint and clear seem to be a little on the soft side, I have tons of swirls and I have polished them out in 1-2 washes their back.

We have this around here to. What a waste of my tax money! Not only does it ruin your car but we have to pack it down using our cars because the lazy A** workers don't. Then just to insure there jobs it just breaks up and they are back the next year LOL. Great system guys...

Maybe the chips on the rims are a result of the design? I find it hard to imagine stones consistently getting in there unless a fluke of design enables it to constantly occur.

In my opinion, GM isn't going to cover the OP's chips. The are too many of them over too many surfaces with different paints.

Just over 5k miles: tiny chips on the factory GFX front lip, small chips on the bottom of the quarter panel by the door, 1-2 small chips by gills on both sides, and a few chips on the rims( not all but like 1 or 2 rims).

I have quite a few chips on my front and only at 2K miles :( I dont drive it in the snow or rain as well. The paint and clear is very soft on the front and its upsetting to know you have a car with less than 3K miles on it and the front end looks worse than my 95 black Z28 with original paint.
