power washing
I know this really probably sounds crazy but do you think you might have been causing the issues with the power washer? is it possible you wer picking up some sand or salt in the pick up tube. Just a thought I have to admit I screwed up the door of my wife's BMW a few years ago using a pressure washer.
Good luck getting it fixed |

No I know the paint is thin!i Changed out my bow ties in the front and back yesterday. When I pulled off the metal radiator cover to gain access to the bow tie it left three scratches in the paint right down Thu the paint now showing black Thu the white(nice)!Looks like shit and I will have to touch it up later.I was extra careful and covered the front end and motor compartment with quilts.Just shows metal on metal rubbing is going to rub or scratch off this thin coating of paint. The panel seams will be the first to show signs of this.Got me kind of scared.Seeing how I have her in the garage stored until may with only roughly 352 miles on her.Definitely like reading all these stories with cars with a lot more mileage with all these paint chipping issues.

Don't know why GM wouldn't cover this...the finish is part of the warranty coverage. And it's not like you deliberately damaged it yourself or were negligent in your use of the car.

Beauwulf is right. The EPA mandated the removal of chemicals that harden the paint the way it should be done. Your liberal government at work!!

I hope everything works out for you. But how did you have the car 6 months, not drive it in the snow, with the winter PA had, and still have 10k miles on it? I got mine in September and just passed 1k.

i never said i didnt drive in the winter but ive never driven the car in the snow i also have a dodge nitro R/T which i drive in the snow i usually waited 2 or 3 days after the roads where cleared and then i would drive the car because it gets such good gas millage compared to the nitro. the reason i have so many miles after 6 months is because i commute 1 hour and 45mns a day (to work and back). In the whole month of feb. i only drove the car twice.

I am having the same problem. I have 11k on my car, and have had it since August 09. I noticed the paint chips in the exact same place the last time I hand washed my vehicle, which I do at least 1 time a week. I took my car to the dealership yesterday, which they told me they would have to research and call me back. When they did, they stated I was the ONLY person with this problem. They initially said they were not going to fix it, but then called me back this morning to let me know they would fix it as a 1 time "favor" since I have bought 4 vehicles from them. That's when I went and Googled it, and yeah, I am NOT THE ONLY PERSON!!! So, as soon as I get off work today, I am going back to the dealership to show them. If this is happening to anyone else, please go to your dealership and report it. They cannot ignore this!

I have the same problem in the both gill areas. I decided I'm going to have them repainted and clear bra protection put on before next winter.

So I took my car to the dealership and they refused to cover this under warranty. They offered to buff it out, touch it up, and cover it in clear vinyl. The above picture is taken after the dealer fix. I had them take the vinyl off cause it looked bad. I have now contacted Gm Customer assistance. After spending 30 minutes on the phone with Maria I am told that this is not a warranty issue and it is the first complaint of its kind? Of course I asked to speak to someone above her and offered to send pictures but she advised she was the only one there and the issue was a "non warranty issue". She advised me to have a good day and sent me on my way. So my question is now what?? I have less than 8500 miles on a car I ordered less than 6 months ago and it appears to me that this issue will only get worse.

I have a 2010 Camaro SS ABM and the paint does seem to chip easily. The dealer is suppose to have the chips touched up since most happened from them driving in the rain 90 miles to deliver my car from one dealerhsip to another. I think it's BS that when you pay 35K for a car, the paint chips so easily.
