Best Detailing Tip/Trick

I thought it would be cool to get a list going of everyone's best detailing tip or trick. Just if you had to pick one cool thing to tell somebody, what would it be?

****This is not intended to get into a brand contest, this is for techniques!

I'll go first:

I think the tip that has gotten me the biggest results was to mist the car with detail spray while drying. I know it's common to a lot of people, but it was new to me and what a difference! The shine is amazing and the water comes off so much easier.

So...what ya got guys and girls?

i use a damp shammy cant spell the actuall name sorry. I use it every morning befor i take it out of the garage. And clean the wheels as needed. The wheels when clean make the whole car look cleaner....

What kind of spray are you spraying on ur car during the dryin process???

After you rinse off the soap. Take your spray gun off the hose and turn the water down low. Then just let water run down the sides, roof, hood and trunk lid. The sheeting action will practically dry the car for you.

Use a Shop Vac or a small can of compressed air to remove excess water from washing, in/around mirrors, tail lights, door jambs, and any area where a seam may hold water.

Q-Tips dampened with interior cleaner work great to remove dirt/dust in A/C vents.

A wooden paint stirer covered with a soft cloth and soaked with soap and water makes cleaining inside of wheels much easier.

After applying tire dressing, follow up with an old paper towel to remove excess...keeps tires from getting a "build up" of dressing and prevents "slinging".

I've got more....

Best thing I've ever used to dry a car is this chamois sponge. Been using them for years, the sponge inside absorbs tons of water so you dry quickly, but you get the polishing properties of real chamois leather.

Clean door jambs often so no gunk builds up. No windex on window tint!

that wooden paint stick thing is a neat idea...except...you can literally fit your entire arm in there to clean...well...at least i can...virtually impossible on my previous cars

Drying it with a leaf blower is the best, absolutely no water marks and looks like brand new all of the time.

SSOOCH... the water sheeting trick is something I learned awhile back as well... it really makes all the difference. Once the water sheets off your just left drying some of the trails up and your done!

Take your car for a ride right after washing to clean the disc brakes of surface rust and to get rid of excess water in places you cant reach.

99% + of what it takes to obtain that "show car shine" is in the preparation not the final wax step.
